It distinguished itself in the war with France following the 1789 revolution and subsequent rise of Napoleon, and fought at Waterloo. The Regiment also served in India during the Mutiny and on the North-West Frontier. It was amalgamated with the 74th (Highland) Regiment of Foot in 1881 to form the Highland Light Infantry.
A vintage Scottish Lion Rampant Flag, printed cotton, yellow and red, 92in (234cm) x 46in (122cm), and an HM Coastguard Ensign flag, printed cotton, blue ground, 140in (355cm) x 68in (172.5cm), both with halyards (2) Note: the Coastguard flag came from the St. Margaret's Bay Coastguard station when it was decommissioned.
