A vintage turquoise, opal, diamond and onyx pendant and chain in 18ct white gold, the large, barrel shaped turquoise body with bands of black onyx above and below, jewelled with cabochon opals and round cut diamonds, suspended from a double-ring, jewelled mount. Length 6cm / 2.25". Weight 16.4g.
WEISSMULLER JOHNNY: (1904-1984) American Actor, famous for his role as Tarzan in various movies. A rare vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph by Weissmuller, the image depicting the swimming champion in an indoor training pool, seated alongside two members of the Illinois Athletic club, Arne Borg and Ethel Lackie, all of them wearing their club swimsuits. Boldly signed in black ink (`Johnny Weissmuller´) across the image to a clear area. Overall age wear and creasing with upper edge slightly trimmed. About G £100-150Weissmuller won five Olympic gold medals for swimming and one bronze medal for water polo in the 1920´s. He was the first man to swim the 100 meter freestyle under one minute, won fifty-two U.S. national championships, set more than sixty world freestyle and backstroke records and was undefeated in official competition for the entirety of his competitive career. Arne Borg (1901-1987) Swedish Swimmer. Borg is a well-remembered swimmer for breaking 32 world records and winning five Olympic medals in the 1920s.

Signed (`Maria Meneghini Callas´), in bold dark ink at the base of the image, adding the year 1958 beneath, in her hand. HERGÉ: (1907-1983) Georges Prosper Remi. Belgian Cartoonist. Best known for creating the series of comics “The Adventures of Tintin”. An excellent signed and inscribed sketch by Hergé, to a 9 x 12 hardback cover of his Adventures of Tintin vintage book `Tintin au Tibet´ (1958-59) (“Tintin in Tibet”), in French. Signed and inscribed in bold black ink to the verso of the front blank page, opposite the title page, `To Marie-Louise.. with friendly thoughts from Tintin, Milou and Hergé´, a good inscription by Hergé who adds beneath the date, 19th October 1976, in his hand. Alongside, Hergé has neatly penned a good sketch of Tintin and Milou. EX £1000-1500
DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Pere (1802-1870) French Writer whose historical novels of high adventure include The Three Musketeers (1844). An attractive vintage signed sepia carte-de-visite photograph by Dumas, the oval sepia albumen image by Pierre Petit of Paris depicting the writer in a formal half length pose. Signed ('avec mille compliments Alex. Dumas') in fountain pen ink to a clear area beneath the image. Photographer's imprint to the lower mount and verso. ROLLAND ROMAIN: (1866-1944) French Dramatist & Novelist, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1915. A good vintage twice signed postcard photograph by Rolland, the image depicting to the front the French writer in a close-up portrait pose. Signed `Romain Rolland´ in bold blue ink to the lower white border. To the verso Rolland sends three lines message to his correspondent, stating in French `To M. Werner Hansmann, in remembrance of the kind party he organized at the Radio Basel for my birthday on 29th January 1936. Your devoted Romain Rolland. Villeneuve, 12th February 1936´. BENAVENTE JACINTO: (1866-1954) Spanish Dramatist, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1922. An excellent vintage signed postcard photograph, `Jacinto Benavente´, with a four lines statement in his hand, in Spanish, the image showing the Spanish writer seated in a half length pose. In bold black ink, Benavente annotates to the right border partially clear area of the image `The true style of a writer is only known during the moments that he forgets the style, with the true education of people, during the time they forget education´, also dated to the left border his hand, July 1908. Rare vintage signed and inscribed sepia 11.5 x 15.5 photograph, unusual in this size, the image depicting Goebbels in a profile head and shoulders pose. Signed ('Dr. Goebbels') in dark fountain pen ink at the base of the image, with a three line inscription in German, the Nazi salute ('Heil Hitler') and date, 18th October 1935, in his hand.
