Audax vintage digital rectangular nickel cased gentleman's wristwatch, hour, minute and seconds apertures, signed movement, brown leather strap, 36mm x 26mm (requires attention)-Briefly runs when wound but stops - requires attention, crown not adjusting the apertures and seconds missing.
A long leather suitcase filled with envelopes and packets of stamps along with vintage albums incl. Hinton's 'The Queen' album and Windsor album with line-engraved incl. soiled 1d black cover, perf 1d red plates incl. a couple of inverted watermarks and pl.225 space-filler, several 2d plate 12 examples, ½d bantams incl. plate 14 mint, then some useful surface-printed incl. cds 1881 1/- and 1883 6d surcharge, 5d jubilee Die I, etc. Also much GB mint QEII from pre-decimal to 2000s, with glassines of gutter pair sets, 2000-'01 Christmas smiler sheets (not pristine), total face value in commems is well over £500, of which £150 is in 1st class booklets.
The miscellaneous balance from a new issue hoarder: mostly GB and Commonwealth box of boxes, one with over 60 first flight covers of the 1950s and '60s for BOAC, Air New Zealand, Malayan Airways, etc, in groups with letters as sent from the airlines; an FDCs box with GB pre-decimal issues in quantities and some British Commonwealth from 1930s and 1940s; small stack of presentation packs too with face value £40; a nice 38-page collection of GB used abroad QV to KGVI mostly on piece incl. octagonal 'Natal Field Force - V.R.' on jubilee issues, Middle East incl. Doha, lots of different Paquebot, etc; plus old envelopes/stockcards incl. Mafeking Baden-Powell 3d narrower type mint (creased, cat. £1,700), KGVI part sheets, etc. Also a box of a dozen unused/empty stockbooks incl. four vintage.
Collection of well over 1500 different mint and used stamps predominantly pre-1930, looking as if transferred from a vintage album, including interesting classics, Liechtenstein 1912 shield set mint, Canada widowheads to 10cts maple leaves and 20cts numerals, the 50cts KEVII is torn, China from 9cn green 'dowager' (corner fault), Treaty Port locals, Shanghai, etc, a handful of Indian States, USA, etc.
Vintage leather-bound 'Ideal' album with thousands of mint and used stamps including decent Cyprus with QV and KEVII both to 18pi used, Great Britain 1d black four margins through to KEVII superb used 5/-, useful China, Persia incl. 1929 Pahlavi set to 3t gold and violet used, Siam, Swiss Helvetias from imperfs onwards, interesting US incl. $3 and $4 Columbus issues both with faults (the $4 spacefiller with loss of corner) through to 1910s Washington and Franklin heads various perfs to 50cts mint in mixed condition, etc. Quality varies as to be expected, particularly in the classics. Please inspect.
A box and old box-file of vintage packets and desk clearance, generally British Commonwealth with a little Russia, Portuguese Colonies etc. Noted glassines with MNH KGVI (and a little KGV) to 1/- and $1 values, as well as much 1940s mail and on and off-paper mixtures. Very disorganised, please inspect.
A container with various volumes (several), incl. a couple of vintage schoolboy albums, one with penny black four margins (two wide), marked on reverse in pencil 'bleuté'. Also a loose-leaf album with mint Commonwealth incl. British Solomon Islands complete KGVI incl. 1940 postage due set, plus both 1959 booklets. A small box has mainly 1960s GB FDCs, however scattered New Zealand postal stationery QV-KGV, with further stationery of Latin America on blank pages. Please inspect.
Ten plastic tubs (three of which small) and a carrier bag of albums, stockbooks and loose, many thousands of stamps, generally basic with mixed condition 19th century including in various battered schoolboy/vintage albums. However we do note Great Britain 1840 1d black and 2d blue three margins (the black with small thin) and another 1840 duo in lesser quality, a nice find of three 5d jubilee Die I examples all with the same Kingston duplex postmark and a sound group of used KGV seahorses with trio to 10/- and the re-engraved set. Much sorting required.
An interesting box of old envelopes and vintage albums incl. an old Senf volume for issues to 1890, heavily remaindered aside from an overfill of Hong Kong (appears a family connection), incl. 1885 20cts on 30cts SG.40 mint (stuck), 1891 14cts on 30cts SG.44 mint (stuck), KEVII $2 used with clean cancel (wmk undetermined but appears to be the better 1903 issue), through to KGVI defins highly complete: the 1938 issues to $10 green and violet (SG.161) unfortunately also stuck, the 1946 set to $10 bright-lilac and blue however are not at all stuck and with strong colours. The envelopes have covers and loose off- and on-paper from WWII-period worldwide commercial correspondence. Also noted a glassine envelope with Pakistan first set and official ovpts both to 10r MNH. Certainly a lot that gives the feeling there will be finds.
