Boldly signed by both in blue fountain pen inks to light areas of the background, Laurel adding an inscription (Hello Fred!') in his hand. Signed with their names alone in bold blue inks to a clear area of the image. Together with a T.L.S, Stan Laurel, one page, 4to, Hal Roach Studio, Culver City, California, 27th July 1933, to Fred Lewis, on the attractive colour printed stationary of Laurel and Hardy and featuring a vignette of the duo at the head. Laurel thanks his correspondent for their letter and continues 'We got a good laugh out of the Black Maria situation you submitted & if the opportunity comes up, we shall be more than pleased to use it.' The letter is lightly mounted and matted in cream beneath the signed photograph and framed and glazed in a contemporary metallic frame to an overall size of 17 x 31. EX,

STEPTOE AND SON: An unusual vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph by both Wilfrid Brambell (1912-1985) Irish Actor, portrayed Albert Steptoe and Joe Loss (1909-1990) British Musician & Bandleader individually, the image depicting the two men standing alongside a horse on the set of the British television comedy series Steptoe and Son. Signed by both Brambell and Loss to a light area of the image in bold blue fountain pen inks. A couple of very minor corner creases, VG Joe Loss and his Orchestra recorded the theme tune of Steptoe and Son in 1963.

CARLOS I: (1863-1908) King of Portugal 1889-1908. Assassinated. A fine vintage signed 7 x 11 photograph depicting the King standing in a full length pose wearing a white military tunic and plumed helmet upon his head. Signed ('Carlos de Braganca') in fountain pen ink to a clear area at the base of the image and dated Elveden, 3rd December 1902 in his hand. Professionally matted in pale blue and framed and glazed in a gilt frame to an overall size of 12 x 16. Some very light, extremely minor age wear to the image, VG. King Carlos I visited England at the end of November 1902 and spent the weekend with King Edward VII at Sandringham before visiting Lord Iveagh at his Elveden Hall residence in Suffolk. Provenance: The photograph was presented to John Savile Lumley-Savile, 2nd Baron Savile (1853-1931) of Rufford Abbey, Nottinghamshire, who presumably was also a guest of Lord Iveagh when King Carlos I visited.
