Original vintage advertising poster published by the Bremen Aviation Association (Bremer Verein fur Luftfahrt) to promote a Flights Event (Flugveranstaltung) held in Bremen on 12 June 1921, which was supported by the Lloyd Luftdienst. This event was organised to make aviation more popular and included air races between Bremen and Berlin and air displays. The visitors were also given the opportunity to have a flying experience with scenic flights over Bremen for little money. There were about 20,000 visitors, of which 250 were flown in 50 flights. In 1971 Piatti was commissioned by the American Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) to design a 30" x 45" poster to promote the closed circuit viewing at the State Armoury in Harlem of the March 8 Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier fight at Madison Square Garden. Vintage reproduction of the Soviet propaganda poster Wrangel is still alive - finish him off without mercy. The poster features a caricature image of Wrangel being finished off by Red Army soldier's sword. The poster was created in July 1920 - a difficult period for the Soviet Republic: the army of Wrangel - commanding general of the anti-Bolshevik White Army in Southern Russia, approached the Donbass, planning a campaign to Moscow after its capture. Pyotr Nikolayevich Wrangel was a Russian officer of Baltic German origin in the Imperial Russian Army. During the later stages of the Russian Civil War, he was commanding general of the anti-Bolshevik White Army in Southern Russia. After his side lost the civil war in 1920, he left Russia. He was known as one of the most prominent exiled White emigres and military dictator of the South Russia (as commander in chief). Good condition, tears, minor stain on top left margin. Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster with the slogans: Party nurtured our army, army's strength is in devotion to the party. We will fulfil resolutions of the 26th congress of the Communist Party! Colourful design featuring a sailor, soldier and cosmonaut (astronaut) making a military salute in front of a large red flag with XXVI on it, the text across the flag in yellow and below in stylised red letters. The 26th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union opened on February 23, 1981, with a five-hour address by the General Secretary of the Communist Party and the chairman (president) of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet Leonid Brezhnev. This was the last Congress for Brezhnev, who died in 1982. Soviet television viewers saw only the beginning and end of the ailing leader's delivery; excerpts from the rest of the speech were read from the studio by an announcer. Brezhnev proposed another round of arms control talks. At a time when an aging Soviet leadership faced a decline in economic growth, severe food problems at home, grave uncertainties about its future relationship with the United States, and unsettling events in Poland, the congress ended its week of speeches by unanimously confirming the existing leadership. Original vintage Nazi propaganda poster in Spanish issued by the Juventudes Hitlerianas - Hitler Youth: Hitler was right - We will win (Hitler tiene razon - Venceremos!). This poster features the black swastika set against a white and red background with the text printed in gothic style letters in white and black. The Hitler Youth (German: Hitlerjugend) was the youth organisation of the Nazi Party in Germany. Its origins dated back to 1922 and it received the name Hitler-Jugend, Bund deutscher Arbeiterjugend ("Hitler Youth, League of German Worker Youth") in July 1926. From 1933 until 1945, it was the sole official boy's youth organisation in Germany and was partially a paramilitary organisation. Great black and white artwork by the American marine artist Worden Wood (1880-1943) featuring a steamship named American Legion sailing at sea with waves splashing up at the front and seagulls flying in the distance, the text above and below in stylised black and white lettering. Munson Line was founded in 1899, adding passenger services to its freight services in 1919 but declared bankrupt in 1937 due to the Great Depression. The American Legion (1919-1948) was built for the United States Shipping Board (USSB) for World War One troop transport but converted before construction into a passenger and cargo vessel operated by USSB agents and the Munson Steamship Line until 1939 when she was transferred to the War Department for active service before being decommissioned in 1946 and sold for scrap in 1948. The poster features ‘24 Heures du Mans 18 et 19 Juin 1966’ in large white text at the bottom, with an image of race cars driving over the crest of a hill, towards the viewer. A large tyre gate over the track features the word Dunlop, and a crowd lines the racetrack on both sides, with a sign for Martini in the background. An orange racecar, bearing the number 20, leads the group. Original vintage War Loan poster issued in France for the National Loan oferred by the National Credit Bank. Affiche de Sem, editee et offerte par la Banque nationale de credit a l'occasion de l'emprunt national (Octobre 1918). Georges Goursat (18631934), known as Sem, was a French caricaturist famous during the Belle Epoque. Aged over 50 at the start of World War I, Goursat was not drafted. He nevertheless involved himself as a war correspondent for Le Journal. Some of his rather "chauvinistic" articles had an "enormous impact". Ten were published in 1917 in Un pekin sur le front. Two others were incorporated in 1923 in another book, La Ronde de Nuit. In 1916 and 1918 Goursat published two albums of Croquis de Guerre (War sketches). Their style is completely different from his previous work. He also designed posters for war bonds. Acceptable condition, foxing, staining, tears, creasing, paper losses. One of the oldest ski resorts in the country, it opened its first lift in early 1939. Original vintage psychedelic Double Head Big O poster designed by David Vaughan featuring photographic images of model Sue (Susan) Murray by photographer David Bailey, silkscreened on foil paper. David Vaughan worked in collaboration with David Bailey for this series of posters, utilising photographs taken for Vogue of models Sue (Susan) Murray and Jean Shrimpton. Big O formed in 1967 initially producing posters of images featured in Oz Magazine, their work continued until the late 1970s. David Vaughan (8 May 1944-4 December 2003) was an English psychedelic artist who formed the design team Binder, Edwards & Vaughan (BEV) and was the father of actress Sadie Frost. He obtained commissions for his psychedelic painted furniture from HRH Princess Margaret, did work for the Beatles in the early 1960s, worked for Expo 67 and Lord John in Carnaby Street, while photographer David Bailey used his work for a series of posters. He was also involved with two events at the Chalk Farm Roundhouse; Jimi Hendrix appeared at one of them on 22 February 1967. Jean Rosemary Shrimpton (7 November 1942) is an English model and actress. She was an icon of Swinging London and is considered to be one of the world's first supermodels. She appeared on numerous magazine covers including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Elle, Ladies Home Journal, Newsweek, and Time. In 2009, Harper's Bazaar named Shrimpton one of the 26 best models of all time, and in 2012, TIME named her one of the 100 most influential fashion icons of all time. She starred alongside Paul Jones in the film Privilege (1967). Poor condition, marks and staining, cracks, folds, creases, foil peeled off in several places.
