Original vintage sport event poster published for the 50th anniversary and revival of the legendary Mille Miglia open road endurance race. Great geometric design by the futurist artist and graphic designer Fortunato Depero (1892-1960) against a bright yellow background with the sponsor logos above and below, using the design originally created for the 1929 Mille Miglia car race. The Mille Miglia took place in Italy from 1927-1957 from Brescia to Rome and back covering a distance of 1000 miles (Mille Miglia); after two fatal crashes the race was banned until 1977 when it was revived as the Mille Miglia Storica for classic and vintage cars. Printed in Italy by Societa Tipografica Piemontese, Torino. Very good condition, restored minor creases and folds, backed on linen.
