GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) - Dark Hall Mansion Archive: Hand-Numbered Limited Edition Regular Foil Print by Laurent Durieux, 2017Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Laurent Durieux produced yet another stylish and thought-provoking design, this time for one of the true classics of cinema, the Oscar-winning romance Gone With the Wind (1939). A highly detailed depiction of Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh) dominates the imagery, with Rhett's (Clark Gable) famous exit incorporated into the shape of her dress. The dark colours on Scarlett and the tombstones surrounding her create a harrowing feeling. This officially licensed print exhibiting Durieux's signature style was released in 2017 as part of Dark Hall Mansion's Seminal Film Series and is an excellent tribute to vintage movie posters. This is the Regular Foil edition, which had a very low print run of 20 and is hand-numbered #9. Dark Hall Mansion was the first to introduce Durieux's work to the alternative movie poster and US markets, allowing his designs to reach a worldwide audience and gain a huge following. Several of the designs included in this collection are some of his earliest works, making them extremely scarce.Provenance: This lot originates from the Dark Hall Mansion archive. Beginning in 2011, Dark Hall Mansion had established itself as one of the leading names in offering creative and in-demand alternative movie posters. Over the years, they released an array of poster designs created by leading and established artists who produced imaginative interpretations of cinema, music and more. Most importantly, their releases were officially licensed by the film, television, and music brands they worked with, making their posters part of the official collecting legacies of these classic titles.24" x 36" (61 x 91 cm)Additional Information: Hand-Numbered #9/20Condition: Very FineSome handling wear along the top border but the main image remains unaffected.Artist: Laurent Durieux£200 - 400VAT Status: ΩClick here for our Poster Auction Grading Guide

A pair of eye-catching movie posters for Wes Anderson's best film to date, the multi-Oscar winning 2014 production The Grand Budapest Hotel. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925) - Dark Hall Mansion Archive: Hand-Numbered Limited Edition Variant Print by Laurent Durieux, 2013Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. This design was released in 2013 through Dark Hall Mansion as part of a "Seminal Film Series", which included several posters by artist Laurent Durieux. Exhibiting a vintage feel, Durieux has created a wonderful piece for the 1925 adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, starring Lon Chaney as The Phantom. The Variant edition print features muted pink tones, highlighting the romantic elements of the story, and the example offered in this lot is hand-numbered #66/100. Dark Hall Mansion was the first to introduce Durieux's work to the alternative movie poster and US markets, allowing his designs to reach a worldwide audience and gain a huge following. SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS (1937) - French 'Moyen' - Linen Backed, 1951Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 8th February. The auction will begin at 2:00PM GMT and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. A French Moyen poster for Walt Disney's first animated feature film, Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs -'Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains'. Artist Bernard Lancy created a unique, softer design showing Snow White and the seven dwarfs playing music and dancing in front of their cottage. The evil witch slyly appearing through the tree's foliage is a menacing addition. This example is similar to the 1937 first-release Style B one-panel poster but has "En Technicolor" printed in the lower right corner. A charming vintage Disney poster for the classic fairytale that rarely comes to market. 22.75" x 31" (58 x 79 cm)Additional Information: Imp. Bedos & Cie Paris.Condition: Very Good-Conservation linen-backed with no restoration to the actual paper. There is paper loss on the centerfold where the linen has been painted rather than the paper. There are various small areas of paper loss and staining but, given the age and thinness of the paper, it is in very good condition.Artist: Bernard Lancy£2000 - 4000VAT Status: MClick here for our Poster Auction Grading Guide
