Super Baltars have been used to create the look of everything from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" to Ron Howard's "Rush"-- not to mention both "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part II" in between. Produced from the 1950's into the 1970's, Super Baltar lenses are prized for their high contrast, unique flare and beautiful, warm fleshtones. Modern-day cinematographers have discovered that combining vintage glass like Super Baltar lenses with today's HD digital sensors produces beautiful results. This "old school" meets "new school" approach creates an organic, "filmic" image that simply cannot be achieved with today's computer-designed lenses. The image starts with the glass, and you'll find no better starting point than the cobalt glass used in the creation of Super Baltar optics.
