1934 Chateau Decelie, Grand CruDomaine Royal Tatoi1 bottle L/S, 1 bottle T/S, 2 bottles M/S4x75clThis 1934 Chateau Decelie was produced at The Greek royal summer residence of Tatoi Palace. The 1934 vintage was produced during the years between the over throw and restoration of the Greek monarchy . These bottles were produced for the French market as "Decelie" is the French translation for Decelea , an ancient suburb of Athens, where Tatoi was situated. With the recent passing of his Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh that has awakened a new interest in the ill-fated Greek Royal family and although Price Philip himself would never visited this estate, his father would have stayed there regularly.  I am afraid I have no idea what lies beneath the cork, looking at the beautiful bright amber colour, I suspect they might be a sweet or semi-sweet wine rather than a dry wine. They appear to be in very good condition. Above all these bottles have historical interest and I welcome the new owner to let us know how they are when they come to open them

Lot 58

1927 Quinta de RorizStained and damaged label1x75clThis is believed to be the first single quinta vintage port to be offered, and was very highly regarded. Michael Broadbent writes of it as being "...perhaps the most renowned of all the old quintas of the Douro". For many years it was vinified, bottled and marketed by Gonzalez Byass, who were already established in Oporto and started shipping Rorez vintage Port at the start of the 20th century. Thus the bottle has original label with the G.B. logo. It also ha the original G.B. lead capsules with a fill level well into the neck (of what are relatively long necked bottles).
