A lot of mixed antique and vintage textiles all in need of repairs/restoration. An early very pretty patchwork quilt 65" x 80", a large patchwork piece not made into quilt - 72" x 96" and another cover only 68" x 90".A large, heavy fringed crocheted bedspread - several holes in one part - 96" x 108" and a cotton linen embroidered tablecloth - damaged. (5)
A 1962 ivory velvet wedding dress and veil. Dress lovely though quite damaged (nibbled) and has some pink stain to the hem, the full length veil is still in original box - slight discolouration of net but otherwise looks to be good. A further slate grey vintage gown - also nibbled. (3)
Three 1950s/60s dresses. A 1960s 'Linzi Line' black lined cocktail frock. Concertina pleated skirt below a fitted empire line bodice with bow feature - size 8. A 60s evening shift dress labelled 'Strohbach' London. Dress has a ground layer of cream silk chiffon and outer flocked layer of black silk chiffon. The whole dress is then fully lined - approx size 12 (needs hemming). A further 1950/60s mauve with black floral flocking cocktail dress. Hand-made well structured fitted garment with a broad slash neck and three-quarter length sleeves and slightly flared skirt. All dresses in good vintage condition. (3)
1950s ruched chiffon fitted dress in pale grey-green. The garment is lined with a back metal zip and features a chiffon drape at the back. Approx size 12. A similar vintage slash neck, also ruched and lined, evening gown with three-quarter length sleeves and tulip shape skirt. A further 1930s cream day dress with full length metal zip from neck to hem. Needs repairs to underarms and two or three holes to main body of garment. (3)
Three pieces of 1920s undergarments. A fabulous fine wool woven all-in-one with fitted salmon pink top and zig-zag contrasting striped bottoms. Areas of moth damage to shorts, labelled 'Smedleys' Jay. A fine knitted 20s spun silk vest in cream and black geometric design - one hole to base of garment also labelled 'Smedleys'. Pair of blue and cream knitted and woven knickers of same vintage and label -several moth nibbles. (3)
A vintage purple Chinese short sleeved blouse with mandarin collar and covered buttons. Garment looks to be home-made probably in the 50s but from an older fabric which is shot with gold thread. There is some seam stress to the darts at the back otherwise fair condition. Approximate size 12
A vintage - possibly 50s or 60s - white chiffon ball gown by 'Elizabeth Proud' of Bath. Very glamorous ruched, fitted bodice and wide flowing bias cut skirt with lining. Garment is embellished with hand-sewn sequins in a floral design on the bodice and upper part of the skirt..There is some damage to the seam on the underskirt and a stitch needed to the seam of the right hand side strap. Otherwise good vintage condition. Approximate size 12
Two vintage 'Harrods' furs. A pale brown mink stole with a shawled collar and gathering of the pelts dropping from the shoulder. Pale brown sating lined and in lovely condition. A further pale grey coney fur jacket with wide cuffed sleeves and side slit pockets. Approx size 10. Both garments labelled 'Harrods'. (2)
Interesting lot of vintage calico maquettes - three in total. A 50'/60s dress with fitted, slightly ruched bodice, drop waist and full skirt. A fitted, pleated full lined skirt with side metal zip - waist 26". An Edwardian style lined fitted dress with black grosgrain trim, popper fastenings to front and sleeves and with 'Morning Coffee' handwritten at the hem. Size 8. (3)
