Worldwide, carton of old auction lots with Latin America country collections on vintage album pages, much Portugal and Colonies, Spanish civil war, Egypt from 19th century to miniature sheets, plate numbers, etc. incl. Syria 1954 Arab Postal Union set of three in imperf corner control imprint pairs, also some useful Asia in loose glassines etc. incl. China. Somewhat chaotic, careful inspection needed.
Wide-ranging accumulation in 4 cartons, with many 1000s of stamps on and off paper, the better sort of mixture from 19th century onwards, a box of PHQ cards in sets, accessories including boxed Davo albums and Schaubek pages for Baltic countries, etc. The best however is the large carton of excellent ephemera, including vintage postcard album filled with artistic/comic cards on the theme of children, many further loose cards incl. silks etc, continental souvenir booklet sets, KGV family portrait triptych of photos, early book of 56 views of Pompei, albums of pressed flowers and cigarette cards, King Edward VIII photographic portrait Masonic certificate and framed embroidery portrait, etc. This is the very interesting balance of the large estate that incorporated the 73 volume Commonwealth collection in this sale.
Worldwide in two cartons, an interesting, very chaotic accumulation, a mass of on and off-paper from all periods and vintage schoolboy albums with early US and India back of the book, Latin America, etc, also plenty of good GB, we note a bundle of 1940s correspondence with some unusual postmarks, later worldwide mail, as well as new issues to at least 2000 (minimum £300 face value).

Also large multiples of 1970s/80s British stamps, especially gutter/traffic light, Channel Islands FDCs and new issues, etc. Discoveries to be made here, we only separated a bunch of autographed covers that is also in this sale.
Benelux and Colonies, Carton with 1000s of mint and used stamps, on groups of pages, vintage albums etc, as bought in auction over the years, including Belgium starting with #1 and #2, SG.99-105 mint (cat. £600), plenty of 20th century mint sets from 1930s onwards, miniature sheets, well-filled Luxembourg collection loaded with classics, also interesting collections of Netherlands Indies, WWI Belgian Occupations, Belgian Congo, incl. m/s 1938 Tourism Congress MNH, etc. Mixed condition on the earlier material as to be expected.

Includes Greenland, Iceland, Danish West Indies, Lithuania, etc., even a White Russia collection incl. Ukraine trident and Wrangel ovpts. Plenty of classics here to investigate, mixed condition.
Worldwide, vintage albums, a somewhat battered Senf album for issues to 1899, with many hundreds of stamps from penny black onwards, including GB 8d orange and 1/- values, Holland #1 on thick paper with large margins, Norway 1857 8sk cds, interesting Indian States, St. Helena 1871 6d, trio of Cape triangulars to 6d, Canada useful large and small queens, Queensland 1882 10/- & £1, New Zealand 6d imperf Chalon four margins, China coiling dragons, etc. Then the well-filled Strand album with well over 1500 different mint and used stamps mostly classics to 1930s with interesting revenues, locals, stationery cut-squares, etc, noted China, Turkey, Persia, US, etc. Other items in the box include a stack of old postcards, loose stamps (especially Russia), Japan souvenir page of classics, etc. Mixed condition as to be expected. Discoveries likely.

Shanghai locals, Turkey locals, Swiss imperfs, Russia, Lombardy-Venetia embossed heads, etc. The other albums incl. another early Lincoln in very good condition, Triumph and Stirling albums again well-filled, incl. China, fresh mint early QEII sets/short sets of the South Atlantic area. Also an envelope incl. a couple of old SG lots: St Vincent 1873 1/- used, signed (SG.21, cat.£250), Western Australia 1882 4d carmine swan mint, dull gum (SG.78, cat.£190), GB 1967 year pack, etc. Mixed condition on the earlies as to be expected. Spain 1850-1990's an extensive collection displayed in thirteen stockbooks, mint and used with unmounted from about the 1930's with some duplication: note 1850 6c black (42, with some plated, incl. one cancelled in red), 12c with four margins and smudgy cancel, 5r pair pen cancelled, 1851 12c four margins used, 1852 12c and 5r four margins used, 1853 12c and 5r with four margins, 6r 3½ margins, 1854 to 5r and 6r used, 1855 bluish paper incl. some multiples, later 19th century well represented (no 19c values) incl. 1864 1r mint, 1876-77 to 40c mint, 1901-05 4p mint, 1920 UPU to 1p mint, 1930 Railway air set with ''A000.000'' controls, 1930-31 set mint, 1936 Stamp Exhibition imperf set ''MUESTRA'' mint, 1938 US Constitution miniature sheet (2) mint, other better 1930's isues, 1947 Air 25p and 50p mint, early 1950's better sets mint, later years mainly unmounted. Also other material in packets, a range of covers and postcards, Revenue stamps etc. Also a stock book of Venezuela from early issues, a small bundle of Lancashire vintage postcards, and a junior world album. British Africa, Carton with collections on album pages as bought in auctions over the years, with noted Gambia mostly mint 1880s onwards, interesting vintage pages, especially Natal and Transvaal classics, Bechuanaland, postmark studies, etc. Sierra Leone includes 1918 1d. corner sheet block of 30 MNH (SG.113b, cat. £300 for hinged). The later pages often complete mint incl. miniature sheets. Also a box of counter cards with useful mint Sudan camel postman and St Helena ships.
Great Britain, Commonwealth and Worldwide, vintage collection of great charm, offered intact as received, housed in a Simplex loose-leaf album, starting with 1840 1d Mulready cover unused, penny blacks x7, an impressive display of the imperf 1d red over several pages, some magnificent copies, great variety of cancels incl. numbers in crosses, high chance of black plates to discover, other studies of the 2d blue perf and 1/2d, followed by a run of mint control numbers QV onwards incl. four pages of KEVII controls. Also an eclectic range of worldwide issues 19th/early 20th century, with focus on WWI, Romania, Palestine, US, etc. See photos.
Great Britain, pre-decimal sheets, over 65 sheets including early phosphor defins set and castles high values, all in pristine quality. Highlights are the 1960-67 phosphor Wildings (SG.610-618a), with complete set to 1/6d and additional values to 1/3d. Strong chance of both the 4½d sheets here being the better ultramarine shade, not deep ultramarine. Then 1963 Bradbury/Wilkinson castles SG.595a-597a with 2/6d x15 sheets (plates 8, 9, 9A, 11A), 5/- x5 sheets (plates 3A, 4, 4A, 5) and 10/- (plate 2A). Lots more including 1966 World Cup, 1967 Gipsy Moth, '67 British Discoveries set, '68 bridges set, first Machins, etc. No doubt great potential for SG-listed flaws and other interesting varieties here. Catalogue (as single stamps) on the Wildings and Castles alone will be approx. minimum £4,500. If including SG.616 as expected, then over £6000. Additional small vintage albums and early presentation packs/FDCs.
