Little Tich signed 6x4 inch vintage album page includes signature and doddle. Harry Relph (21 July 1867 – 10 February 1928), professionally known as Little Tich, was a 4-foot-6-inch-tall (137 cm) English music hall comedian and dancer during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was best known for his acrobatic and comedic "Big-Boot Dance", which he performed in Europe and for which he wore boots with soles 28 inches (71 cm) long. Aside from his music hall appearances, he was also a popular performer in Christmas pantomimes and appeared in them annually at theatres throughout the English provinces. He repeated this success in London, where he appeared in three pantomimes at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, between 1891 and 1893 alongside Dan Leno and Marie Lloyd. WW1 - US NAVY RECRUITING POSTERRecruiting Poster (43.5" x 31.25")Fine+ on Linen; Artwork by Henry Reuterdahl US Government Printing, 1917Promoting enlistment in the United States Navy, this 1917 poster by artist Henry Reuterdahl showcases camaraderie among Allied sailors. Each sailor is depicted standing proudly over the national ensign of his respective country, with his ship visible in the background. From left to right, the sailors represent Japan, France, the United States, Great Britain, Russia, and Italy. Notably, the British sailor is adorned with a distinctive "sennit" cover, a component of the tropical uniform used until 1921. Prior to linen-backing, this example was folded and had several "V"-shaped tears along the upper and lower edges that were corrected and are still slightly visible. The lower left corner had separated and was reattached and random edge tears were corrected. This vintage recruitment poster presents beautifully and is a nice example of how the US and he allies came together for this important cause.When America declared war in April 1917, it faced a significant shortage of both manpower and material necessary for combat.
