To Be Continued Unnoticed [Cover]. Some Papers by Man Ray in connection with an exposition December 1948. Beverly Hills/California, Copley Galleries 1948. - Der Text »A Note on the Shakespearean Equations« enthält unter anderem einen Brief von Man Ray an André Breton mit Überlegungen des Künstlers zu seiner Stellung innerhalb der etablierten Surrealisten: »I like to carry my propaganda into the enemy‘s camp. It is the only effective propaganda. We do not need to convert those who are already on our side.« An dieser Stelle fügte Man Ray mit rotem Kugelschreiber die Zeile »But this is dangerous; it makes martyrs!« ein. Provenienz: Collection Lucien Treillard, Paris. - Berliner Privatbesitz.30,5 : 22,8 cm. 12, [4] Seiten.May Ray, Sein Gesamtwerk, Schaffhausen 1989, Abb. 192 (Fotografie). - Man Ray, Ausstellungskatalog Kunstforum Wien 2018, Abb. S. 154 (Katalogcover)
