RODGERS RICHARD (1902-1979) & HAMMERSTEIN OSCAR (1895-1960) American Composer and Lyricist of Broadway Musicals. Individual blue ink signatures by both Rodgers (who adds an inscription in his hand) and Hammerstein on the verso of a vintage colour postcard of The Plaza hotel in New York. Together with a T.L.S., Richard Rodgers, one page, 4to, Madison Avenue, New York, 7th September 1960, to Miss. Doreen Duke, in part, `It`s been rough for a long time, but your letter helped a lot.` Also including a selection of signed pieces, cards, album pages, a few vintage signed postcard photographs etc., by various actors and entertainers including Charles Laughton (D.S., 1942), Robert Preston, Nelson Eddy, Jeanette MacDonald, Susan Maughan, Buster Crabbe, Doris Day, Arthur English, Julie Walters, Ginger Rogers, George Robey etc. A few FR, generally G to VG, 32
COLE NAT KING: (1919-1965) American Jazz Singer & Pianist. A vintage 8vo printed programme for Nat King Cole`s appearance in The Big Show as part of his Australian Tour of January 1955, signed by Cole to an inside photo page of the musician in a smiling half length pose. Cole has signed his name alone in bold pencil to a light area of the background. Together with a vintage signed 4.5 x 6 photograph by The Platters individually, Herb Reed, Tony Williams, Paul Robi, David Lynch and Zola Taylor. The image depicts the band in a head and shoulders group pose. Signed by each to clear areas of the image, Reed and Taylor with their full signatures and the others with first names only. The image also bears one other signature and there are a further seventeen signatures to the verso by various other singers and musicians including Tommy Sands, members of The Sharks and other members of The Platters band. Together with a signed 4 x 6 photograph by Ella Fitzgerald showing her standing in a three quarter length pose singing into a microphone, and a vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph by Freddie Mitchell showing him in a head and shoulders pose with his saxophone. Signed in fountain pen ink to a light area of the image, `To Carol-fondest regards, Frank Sinatra`. The signature is a little light in places although legible. MANFRED MANN: A good, vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph by all five members of the 1960s pop band individually, Manfred Mann, Mike Hugg, Mike Vickers, Paul Jones and Tom McGuinness. The image depicts the band standing and seated together in full length poses wearing identical dark suits. Signed by each with their names alone in fountain pen ink to clear areas of the image, only McGuinness signing across a darker portion. VG
KINKS THE: Vintage signed colour 8.5 x 7.5 magazine photograph by all four original members of the English rock band individually, Ray Davies, Dave Davies, Pete Quaife and Mick Avory. The image depicts the band standing in a group pose together, each wearing identical shirts and jackets. Signed by each with their first names only in bold blue inks to light areas of the image. Matted in terracotta and framed and glazed in a plain brown frame to an overall size of 14 x 15. VG
MAMAS & THE PAPAS THE: A rare vintage signed and inscribed postcard photograph by all four members of the folk rock group of the 1960s individually, Cass Elliot, John Phillips, Denny Doherty and Michelle Phillips. The image depicts the four singers and musicians together in head and shoulders poses. Signed by each in black inks, largely to clear areas, Elliot`s signature across a slightly darker area although legible. Michelle Phillips has signed with her maiden name Michelle Gilliam. Inscribed (`To Bill-Love -`) in black ink to the upper white border. EX
AGA KHAN IV: (1936- ) Prince Karim. Spiritual Leader and Imam of Ismaili Muslims. Vintage signed 4.5 x 6.5 photograph of the Aga Khan standing outdoors in a three quarter length pose. Signed in bold turquoise fountain pen ink to the lower white border and dated 29th May 1959 in his hand. A small, neat tear appears to the left of the image, not affecting the signature, otherwise VG.
CHURCHILL CLEMENTINE S.: (1885-1977) Wife of Sir Winston S. Churchill. Vintage signed 6.5 x 9 photograph of Churchill seated in a half length pose. Photograph by Vivienne of London and bearing her credit stamp to the verso. Signed (`Clementine S. Churchill`) in fountain pen ink to the lower photographer`s mount. Together with a dark fountain pen ink signature (`Clementine S. Churchill`) on an 8vo page removed from an autograph album, annotated in ink in another hand at the base, `Visit of Mrs. Winston Churchill, Friday, 19th June 1942` and further annotated at the base in pencil as having been removed from an album belonging to Norman Tiptaft, Lord Mayor of Birmingham. KENNEDY JACQUELINE: (1929-1994) Wife of American President John F. Kennedy, First Lady 1961-63. Vintage signed and inscribed 6.5 x 9 photograph of Kennedy in a semi-profile head and shoulders pose. Photograph by Henry Grossman. Signed in bold black ink to the lower white border, `For Billiejean, with such appreciation and all my good wishes, Jacqueline Kennedy`. A couple of light, minor stains to the lower border, only slightly affecting the last letter of Kennedy`s signature. About VG. . . . . . . . The recipient of the photograph was, apparently, Billiejean Hodgson, a member of Kennedy`s household staff.

BRITISH ROYALTY: A fine, rare vintage signed Imperial Cabinet photograph by Queen Victoria (1819-1901) Queen of the United Kingdom Great Britain & Ireland 1837-1901, her son King Edward VII (1841-1910) King of the United Kingdom 1901-10, and her grandson King George V (1865-1936) King of the United Kingdom 1910-36 individually. The wonderful image, by W & D Downey of London, shows Queen Victoria seated in a full length pose holding her infant great grandson, the future King Edward VIII, in her lap. King Edward VII and King George V stand in full length poses either side of the Queen. Signed by Queen Victoria in black fountain pen ink to a light area at the base of the image, `Victoria R I & little Edward Albert`, also adding the date 16th July 1894 in her hand. Signed (`Albert Edward`) by King Edward VII and signed (`George`) by King George V, each in dark fountain pen ink with their names alone to clear areas of the image. Queen Victoria has experienced a little pen trouble, with a few letters a little light. Signed photographs depicting four generations of the British Royal family are rare and desirable. Some glue remnants to the borders of the photograph, evidently caused by previous framing. G. The photograph was captured at White Lodge, Richmond Park on the occasion of Prince Edward of York`s christening. In her journal for July 1894 Queen Victoria wrote `The dear fine baby wearing the Honiton lace robe…[made from her own wedding veil]…was brought in & handed to me-I then gave him to the Archbishop & recd. Him back….the child was v.good…..& afterwards we were photographed, I holding the baby in my lap, Bertie and Georgie standing behind me, thus making 4 generations.`
