He started to learn the piano at the age of seven and began his professional career playing in various orchestras at the age of eighteen. He directed and played piano and harpsichord on 78s with many leading bands as well as lesser known ensembles. For several years he was a 'house arranger/conductor' at Decca. Otto Ludwig Preminger: 5 December 1905 - 23 April 1986) was an Austro Hungarian born theatre and film director. He directed more than 35 feature films in a five decade career after leaving the theatre. He first gained attention for film noir mysteries such as Laura (1944) and Fallen Angel (1945), while in the 1950s and 1960s, he directed high profile adaptations of popular novels and stage works. In 1962, Neale, his brother, and John decided to go on a worldwide tennis tour starting in Egypt and ending in Japan. The highlight was that both brothers reached the semi-final of the Wimbledon singles with Neale losing to Rod Laver and John losing to his compatriot Martin Mulligan in three sets. Six of the quarterfinalists in the Wimbledon men's singles that year were Australians. Fraser also reached the semi-final of the Wimbledon doubles, partnered with Rod Laver, losing to Fred Stolle and Bob Hewitt. He also reached the third round of the French men's singles losing to Pierre Damon. In 1963 he reached the quarterfinal of the Australian Open losing to another compatriot Roy Emerson in straight sets. He was ranked No. 8 in 1963. Good condition. Acrobatic group, Trio Hoganas signed, 10x8 vintage black and white photograph. Trio Hoganas was a Swedish acrobat troupe , active internationally during the years 1956 1975. The members of the trio, all born in the late 1920s, came from Hoganas and initially called themselves Trio Hoganas. The trio attracted attention with their art, mainly with the so called 'tooth line', where two of the members held a line outstretched with their teeth while the third performed balance numbers on it. It was the leader of Furuvik's Youth Circus Bodo West (Rosenberg), who in the early 1950s inspired them to this number and they performed with the circus from 1952. Good condition. Actor, Michael Flanders signed 6x4 vintage black and white photograph. Flanders OBE (1 March 1922 - 14 April 1975) was an English actor, broadcaster, and writer and performer of comic songs. He is best known for his stage partnership with Donald Swann. As a young man Flanders seemed to be heading for a successful acting career. He contracted polio in 1943 while serving in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve and for the rest of his life was reliant on a wheelchair. He made a career as a prolific broadcaster on radio and later television, and together with his old schoolfriend, the composer Donald Swann, he wrote successful songs in the late 1940s and early and mid-1950s for revues in the West End of London. Presenter, Joan Gilbert signed 6x4 vintage black and white photograph dated on the reverse January 1953. Gilbert was a producer and presenter best known for fronting Picture Page (think in terms of an early version of The One Show) between 1946 and 1951. Gilbert had been a production assistant on the programme before the war, and when the television service and with it, Picture Page was restored, she was promoted to editor. Finding nobody quite right for the role of host, she took that on as well, and consequently became one of early TV's biggest names. Good condition.
