A German oak cased quarter chiming bracket clock Junghans, early 20th century The two-train movement chiming the quarters on four gongs and striking the hour on a further gong, the brass full-arch dial with matted centre within an applied silvered Arabic numeral chapter ring beneath regulation and chime/silent dials to arch within a foliate scroll etched gilt ground, the case with moulded caddy top above pilaster applied canted angles and moulded plinth base with pad feet, 44.5cm high.
A George III oak and mahogany longcase clock, with swan's neck pediment above the arched glazed door flanked by simple pillars enclosing the 13.25ins. arched brass dial by Edward Barlow, Oldham with moon phase, foliate spandrels, silvered chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial with eight day striking movement, the case with arched crossbanded trunk door flanked by fluted columns and with conforming base raised on bracket feet, height 93ins. This clock has had the movement recently restored at a cost of some £500 (receipt available). (see illustration)
