An early 19th Century mahogany cased eight day Scottish longcase clockHaving a 36 diameter circular painted dial with Arabic and Roman numerals, centred with two subsidiary dials and indistinctly signed "Glassgow" , the two train movement striking on a saucer bell with three smaller "nest bells", the mahogany case with overall inlaid ebony stringing and a rectangular crossbanded door above a conforming lower panel, raised on bracket feet, complete with a pendulum, the circular bob painted with a masted vessel, also a pair of tapering clock weights, 230cm high.
A George III oak and mahogany longcase clock, the 28cm brass dial with silvered chapter ring inscribed Ashton, Ashburn (sic) Roman numerals, date aperture, 30-hour movement striking on a bell, the case with swan neck pediment, shaped rectangular door to waist centred by an oval shell patera, bracket feet, 207cm high, c.1800The signature is that of Samuel Ashton the younger born at Macclesfield 1828, apprentivced to father at Tideswell 1742-49, and moved to Ashbourne c. 1750, leaving his brother Aaron to succeed to their fathrer's business at Tideswell. HHe two son,s Thomas and Martin, the former working from Tideswell and the latter in partnership with his father freom 1791 and his successor until his own death in 1829 [Craven, M & Hughes, R G 'Clockmakers & Watchmakers of Derbyshire' (Mayfield 1998) 57-58.] Condition Report: Generally good. Dial and movement associated with case.

A late George III oak and mahogany crossbanded eight day longcase clock, the 13" square brass dial inscribed 'T Parr, Wigan', with subsidiary seconds hand and date aperture, long shaped door, fluted quarter pilasters and raised on ogee bracket feet, height 222cm. CONDITION REPORT: Split to plinth of base, rather dry in colour throughout, would benefit from a polish. The hands are replaced to the dial which has been cleaned, as has the movement, movement and dial probably associated to the case. Upper finial missing, section of fretwork damaged to the hood. General wear and tear.
A George III and later oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock, the dentil moulded cornice above a 12" square painted dial inscribed 'Burton, Kendal', with thirty hour movement, long arched door inlaid with a conch shell to a plinth base and bracket feet, height 190cm. CONDITION REPORT: Dial and movement associated to the case. Old repairs to the plinth which has possibly been re-boarded to the front and sides, general surface wear, knocks to the dentil mouldings, a cut to the left hand side return to the side of the dial, and the bracket foot plinth has been replaced.

General surface wear and tear. No weights or pendulum. Door is not warped. Lower section of the case with old heavy woodwork and cracks.

CONDITION REPORT: Dial has been re-painted, the broken swan neck pediment has been broken and crudely repaired across both scrolls, numerous veneer repairs around the door and the carving is a later addition, bracket feet later replaced, hands replaced, general surface wear.
