A French green stained tortoiseshell and ormolu clock bracket, 18th century, in Rococo style with Oriental male mask centre mount 24 x 31cmthe top of the bracket is fitted with an inset brass upstand, the rear of which which is braced with triangular blocks at the corners. The interior measurement of the upstand is 9cm front to back and 17cm wide, but this is not allowing for the triangular blocks.

A Late 19th / Early 20th Century French Brass "Four Glass" Mantel Clock, by P. Japys et Cie, No. 2072, the 3.5ins diameter cream enamel dial with Arabic numerals and floral swag ornament, to the eight day two train movement striking on a gong and with mercury compensating pendulum, contained in brass and bevelled glass case, on bracket feet, 12.5ins high The clock presents in condition commensurate with age and general usage. There is some slight discolouration to the gilding on the exterior but again this is patination of age. there is no obvious sign of previous damage or repair. All the glass is free from any obvious sign of cracking or chipping and likewise there is no obvious sign of previous repair to the dial. The dial is free from cracks and chips and the gilding to the bezel is in good order the black Roman baton numerals are clear and concise and have not been restored in any way. The mechanism appears complete and original however we cannot guarantee the originality of all components. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Both of the mercurial tubes are half full. The key is present. the gong strikes. Prospective bidders are advised to study all images carefully prior to bidding

A 19th Century Mahogany Longcase Clock, by Benjamin Taylor of London, the 12ins arched brass dial with silvered centre and chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, strike silent dial to arch, to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell, contained in case with arched and moulded corners and stop fluted columns to hood, arched and moulded trunk door with reeded quarter columns to sides, on plinth base with bracket feet, 90ins highExternally the case presents in condition commensurate with age and moderate usage. There are numerous small ding and marks and bruises but nothing significant. There is no obvious evidence of woodworm, again the hood has some small marks to the corners and some slight cracking to the veneer to the front left hand bottom corner. The reeded columns are in good condition and appear free from any obvious sign of damage. The door functions correctly however there is some wear in the hinges but they do appear to be original and the screws appear to also be original. The weight and crank handle are present, along with the pendulum, the dial does have some wear to the silvering. In general this is commensurate with age and the door to the hood has some damage to the veneer around the lock area and some cracking to the bottom of the door. The door hinges appear to function correctly, the glass is free from any cracks or damage and appears to be original. The bottom hinge is detached with no screws present and the top hinge has one modern screw. We do not appear to have a key for the hood door. The mechanism appears to be complete but we cannot warrant its originality. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Prospective bidders are advised to study all images carefully prior to bidding.  

An 18th Century Oak Longcase Clock, by John Tickell of Crediton, the 11ins square brass dial with Roman numerals to the thirty hour weight-driven movement, striking on a bell, contained in case with moulded cornice and turned columns to hood, arched trunk door, arched panel plinth base, and on bracket feet, 79ins high Externally the clock presents in good overall condition showing wear commensurate with age and usage. Numerous light dings that have been polished over the years. Some small cracks here and there but nothing of any significant nature. The hood itself has a chip to the bottom left hand corner approximately 1ins x 0.5ins. The columns are in good condition. The glass is intact and free from any damage and appears to be original. The hinges to the glass are original. The dial is in nice condition, clear bright and crisp. Hands appear original.  The mechanism is intact but we cannot warrant the originality of all components. Weight and pendulum are present. The door to the cabinet itself appears to have had the hinges modified at some time. There are areas cut away from the previous hinge and it appears to have been modified, however this is historic. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all images closely prior to bidding.

Croydon, 1925: a large and impressive mahogany 8-day quarter chiming longcase clock, the arched silvered dial and Arabic numeral chapter ring, with gilt metal scrollwork and fret decoration throughout, subsidiary seconds dial and silvered plaque with retailer's information, the arch with two dials for chime/silent and Westminster/Whittington/St. Michael chime selections, three train quarter chiming movement with single large tubular bell and eight graduated tubular bells, the mahogany hood with arched ogee pediment and pierced sound frets, the base having an astragal glazed long waist door on panel base with canted corners, bracket feet, with three graduated weights, pendulum and winding key, 218cms high.

Registration No: KPU 103C Chassis No: BA74EM59102 MOT: ExemptFinished in traditional Ermine White with Green side flash, trimmed in BlackRestored to fast road/ classic rally specification in c.2005 by Eddie GandertonCarrying the iconic 'KPU' registration prefixPotentially all, or part of a donor shell may have been used to restore the FordIn 1963 Ford was looking to race the two-door MkI Cortina in Group 2, for which the obvious powerplant was the twin-cam version of the 'Kent' engine Colin Chapman had already developed for use in the Elan - the Lotus Cortina was born. In addition to the 105bhp 1558cc engine, the changes included: a close-ratio gearbox, shorter front suspension struts, and trailing arms and coil springs with 'A' bracket at the rear. Wider 5.5J steel wheels were added, lightweight aluminium panels used for the doors, bonnet and boot and quarter bumpers added to the front. Interior amendments included: a new centre-console for the remote control gear lever, different seats and facia, and a wood-rim steering wheel. The MkI model was made until 1966, during which time the most significant upgrades included the adoption of Ford's new 'Airflow' ventilation system and the replacement of the troublesome 'A' bracket rear suspension with leaf springs and radius arms.This 1965 MkI Lotus Cortina, is a right-hand drive example that was restored by marque specialist Eddie Ganderton with extensive details in the accompanying history file. It was to fast road/rally specification in c. 2005. 'KPU 103C' is finished in the traditional Lotus Cortina livery of Ermine White with Green side flash and trimmed in Black, with less than 1,000 miles since an extensive bare-shell restoration. It’s understood that the engine includes a correct 4-bolt crank with matching head and block numbers, fully balanced, gas flowed and ported. It also features a period Magard double throttle linkage on Weber 40 DCOE 18s, a 2-inch exhaust with a competition manifold, two Facet fuel pumps in the boot, and Aeroquip fuel lines. This setup is complemented by a competition clutch, 2000E ratios, an original alloy bell-housing and genuine Lotus half shafts which is in keeping with the works rally cars. Also fitted with guniune Lotus rear leaf springs and wedges and mated to a one piece propshaft. The suspension includes adjustable struts and rear Bilstein dampers. Final period touches to this fast road/rally car include a working period Halda, fixed-back front seats and an aircraft clock of the type fitted to Sabre fighter jets of the era.As is often the case with restored 60-year old cars, it's possible that all, or part of, a donor shell may have been used to restore this car at some time. Originally leaving the Dagenham factory with the 'DCK 231C' moniker, today, it wears registration ‘KPU 103C’ since the c.2005 restoration, making the whole package distinctly evocative. 'KPU' registrations became synonymous with competition Fords and the restoration of this car celebrates and replicates the most famous competition Lotus Cortinas, amongst them Colin Chapman's Lotus Cortina road car 'KPU 396C’, which was also raced by Jim Clark and Roger Clark's rally car 'KPU 383C'. In the last 3 months, the Cortina has had a full service, new plugs, new antifreeze, new oil all round, new battery, plus new tyres.
