Leeson of Coles Hill; a mahogany-cased eight-day longcase clock with broken swan neck pediment and cross banded detail above enamelled dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary second hand surrounded by gilt-heightened floral borders, short door and raised on plinth base to bracket feet, height approx 233cm. CONDITION REPORT There is a roundel missing from the left hand side of the broken swan neck pediment, there are small cracks through the veneer to the face of the hood and throughout the carcass of the clock, there is scratching and rubbing to a lot of the surfaces, complete with pendulum and two weights.

Y An impressive Regence style gilt brass mounted tortoiseshell bracket clock, late 19th century, the two train eight-day ting-tang gong quarter striking movement with Vincenti et Cie stamped roundel to backplate and 9 inch circular blue on white enamel twenty-four piece cartouche dial with trophy cast centre and foliate apron beneath, the case with gilt seated Minerva surmount to the domed superstructure over shaped break-arch glazed front flanked by two pairs of female therms, the lower section with mask centred apron mount and further winged term supports over a shaped platform with foliate feet, the whole set on a matching ogee-shaped wall bracket with rams-head corner mounts, 176cm high overallCondition Report: Movement is complete and will run however the strike train (ting-tang quarter strike) is not operating correctly so requires attention. The movement is original to the dial and case confirming that the clock is a 'revival' piece dating to the latter part of the 19th century. The dial is in good condition and the case is generally sound with significant faults limited to movement/cracking and small localised repairs to the shell veneers commensurate with age.Clock does have a pendulum and winding key.Condition Report Disclaimer
