A George II mahogany cased bracket clock by Anthony Marsh, the silvered break arched dial signed Anthy Marsh opposite Y bank of England, London with Arabic Numerals and subsidiary seconds, square date aperture and visible moon face movement, the double Fusee movement with striking bell the back plate heavily engraved and signed, Anthy Marsh opposite Ye Bank Of England, London and glass back. The mahogany case with carved panels, brass pineapple finials and carrying handle (21.5 inches overall). Anthony Marsh son of John Marsh, a wheelwright of Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire was apprentice to Abraham Acton on 7 June 1714. He was made free of the clock makers company on 5 October 1724 and became a Steward of the company on 17 July 1745. This clock has been in the same family since the 19th century.

Holland, London, in an ebonised dome-topped case with pierced side frets and red silk backing, central scroll carrying handle, 33cm overall height (door key and winding key present) CONDITION REPORT General overall condition very good. Movement is clean and in full working order, has been fully overhauled at some time. Case has some wear and domed top is cracked

Movement dirty but appears to be in working order. Enamel dial has some damage around edge and winding holes are chipped. Case is good. Some minor damage and cracking to veneers. Rear door is damaged bottom corners and near lock

Soh., striking hours and quarters on two gongs, silvered arched dial and chapter ring with subsidiary strike silent dial, in a burr walnut dome-top case with ivory stringing, on four ball feet, 16cm overall height (key present) CONDITION REPORT General condition reasonable, movement is clean and escapement moves but we are unable to say if it is in full working order. Silvering on dial is worn and chapter ring is worn through to base metal. Hour hand is detached but present. Case is quite worn. Veneer has some surface damage and cracking. Rear door interior silk has damage near top. Front door slightly distorted. Outer frame is very dirty and door itself difficult to open

Pickring" and dated 1749, the silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and with date aperture and matted dial centre to the thirty hour brass framed movement striking on a bell, contained in 19th Century dark oak case with moulded and fluted cornice and plain turned pillars to hood, the trunk door carved with the head of a king, flower and leaf ornament and conforming leaf carved borders and plinth, on bracket feet, 85ins high. Note : John Rigg recorded working Guisborough circa 1750
A early George III Scottish mahogany longcase clock by Robert Clidsdale of Edinburgh, the 14ins arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, matted dial centre with subsidiary seconds dial and cast mask, urn and leaf scroll pattern spandrels to the eight day three train movement striking and quarter chiming on nine bells, contained in mahogany case with moulded scroll pediment, cast brass circular paterae and later fretted panels and with slender turned and fluted pillars to the hood, the shaped trunk door veneered in figured mahogany and crossbanded, flanked by fluted quarter columns, the plinth inlaid with bandings and with reeded cant corners, on bracket feet, 93ins high. Note : Robert Clidsdale (Clydesdale) recorded working Edinburgh, Apprenticed 1738, working until 1786
