The 6 inch (15 cm) brass dial having a matted centre housing pendulum swing & calendar apertures, encircled by a chapter ring engraved with Roman numerals counting the hours and an outer ring of Arabic's counting the minutes, with scrolling Rococo spandrels adorning the corners and a strike/silent and seconds ring located in the arch amidst decorative foliate engraving and inscribed maker's name Jno. Roberts, St James London. The twin fusee movement striking a bell with a rising pendulum and ornately engraved back-plate. The flame figured case having a bell-shaped pediment with gilt brass carrying handle to the top and fir-cone finials surmounting the corners. Standing 19 ins (28 cms) high on bracket feet (original unrestored condition).

The balloon case having a raised pediment and swept wall bracket painted with an abundance of flowers on an apple green ground and embellished with fine ormolu mounts cast in the form of asymmetric sprays of foliage & crested rocaille scrolls. The pediment surmounted by a crown of swirling flowers & stylized foliage. The spring driven movement striking a bell and having an 11 inch (29 cms) enamel dial with a segmented border of numeral panels, 47 ins (120 cms) overall in height.
