A late Victorian bracket clock by Dent, the twin fusee movement within a figured walnut, foliate fretwork and brass mounted case with an ogee moulded base on squab feet, the enamelled face with Roman numerals and labelled 'Dent, 61 Strand, London, 1467', h. 49 cm *Edward John Dent (1790-1853) was the founder of Dent & Co. and is most famous for his work in producing 'Big Ben'. After his death in 1853, the firm was continued by his successors and worked from 4 Royal Exchange and 61 Strand between 1886 and 1904.
