A WILLIAM AND MARY EBONISED STRIKING BRACKET CLOCKBy Richard Colston, LondonThe caddy top case with foliate cast handle and pierced foliate mounts, above glazed doors and sides, the 7in. square brass dial, signed Richard Colston, London on the dial plate below the VI, with winged cherub masks, silvered chapter ring and finely pierced and chased hands, the twin train six-pillar movement with latched plates, now with anchor escapement and lacking the quarter repeat work, profusely engraved and signed backplate 38cm highRichard Colston was a Freeman of the Clockmakers from 1682, he died 1702/9.Condition reportThe clock is in unrestored condition.  It has one key and a case key.  As stated the movement has been converted to anchor.  The quarter repeat work has been removed.  The dial is latched to the upper pillars and pinned to the lower.
