A Good Quality Brass Repeating Carriage Clock, retailed by J.W. Benson, 25 Old Bond St, London, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and three smaller dials for date, day and alarm, in a leather carry case, 14cm high handle down.no guarantees regarding working order but wheel on top moving and hands moving serial number 24808 - S F to top, can't see any makers mark, scratches to gilding at front of clock. Back door won't open, there is an oval to the left hand side but unable to reads letters, alarm hand at the bottom.

Footnotes: Note: The original statue of Napoleon by sculptor Charles Émile Seurre was commissioned by Louis-Philippe (the last French king) and was installed at the top of the Vendôme column. It was inaugurated on July 28, 1833 in the presence of Louis-Philippe, for the 3rd anniversary of the 1830 revolution which brought him to the throne. The vendome statue was replaced with one of Napoleon draped in a Classical toga, and eventually was installed at the Cour d’Honneur at the Invalides on March 11, 1911, where it still stands today.
