AN 18TH CENTURY OAK & MAHOGANY CROSSBANDED LONGCASE CLOCK, having 8-day movement, the face with silvered chaptering and subsidiary seconds, bearing an image of Old Father Time and the name 'Wolley Codnor', having swan neck pediment over plain pilaster supported hood, single door on a larger box base, with probable associated base, 226cm (to highest point), with pendulum and weightsCondition report: cracks & restoration to case, from swan neck finials & dial door down. Some discolouration to chaptering, movement looks ok, back of clock looks replaced. There is a note on the top of hood dated 2009 from ‘Antique Clock Repairs, Cambridge to say repair to pendulum, oiled all part, improved striking action. **Note from Johnsons of Nuneaton – would require full service, rebush, polish pivots, recut teeth & pallets **
A MATTHEW NORMAN OF LONDON CARRIAGE TIMEPIECE in a classical column brass case, white dial with Roman numerals, fitted an eleven jewels movement, 11.5cm highCondition report –It needs some attention, when you twist the clock, the balance wheel seen through top window turns back & forth. Wound it and it ticked for a bit and then stops, so needs attention.
AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY PROBABLE GERMAN MAHOGANY CASED MANTEL CLOCK having architectural pediment, with twin carved pilaster sides, on a stepped plinth base, with ogee style feet, 34cm high, with pendulum and keyCondition report – There is a crack to the wooden moulding of case top left-hand side, towards the back, the silvered chaptering and silvered frame of the dial are a little discoloured. The back door of the case has pierced decorated panel, this is badly broken, pieces missing and cracked, the silk backing has rotted. There is some damage to the carcase back, along the bottom of the case. Pendulum and key with clock, we do not vouch for the mechanical condition, seems to be in working order but we do not have it set up.
CHARLES FLETCHER OF BARNSLEY, A 19TH CENTURY REGENCY STYLE BRACKET TIMEPIECE, dome top mahogany case with brass inlay and brass ring side handles, raised on brass ball feet, silvered dial with Roman numerals, 8-day movement, 33cm high, 13cm in diameterCondition report – A few splits to veneer, including front around the dial. The dial is good, brass inlay a little proud, handle a little loose on the left, dents to moulding around the bottom, some splits to case, some veneer losses to back door, nicely engraved back plate to clock. Set it up with pendulum, wound it and it is working, ticking evenly. There is a receipt from 2007 for a professional service.
A 20th century brass carriage clock with painted dial and side panels, the back plate inscribed 'Deacon, Swindon' and numbered 0065, height 12.5cm.Additional InformationWe suspect this is a mid-late 20th century example, there is some tarnishing to the brass, the balance wheel is moving freely, general surface wear and some light pitting throughout.
An 18th century oak thirty hour longcase clock with 11" brass dial inscribed 'I. Barbar, Meerbrook', with subsidiary date aperture, the long door inlaid with a star and on a plinth base, sold with pendulum and single weight, height 194cm.Additional InformationThe base of the plinth has been added at a later date, general wear throughout as one would expect, no guarantee of working order.
