An early 20th century spelter 'Diana' mystery timepiece, she stands, holding combined movement and pendulum aloft in her right hand, on turned ebonised plinth, the back-wound timepiece having an enamel dial, Arabic chapter, gridiron pendulum, 36cm overall, c. 1920s The patent for this kind of clock was taken out in 1909 by Junghans & Haller, but most timepieces of this type date from ther period following the Great War. Some were also made in the USA by Ansonia and were available post World War II Condition Report: Head of figure broken but not detached at neck.

A French Third Republic boulle drum head mantel clock, 10cm enamel dial inscribed Connell, Paris, Roman numerals, twin winding holes, 14-day movement with visble Brocot escapement, the case veneered overall in cotre-partie, glazed pendulum chamber, plinth base, 43cm high, c.1880 William Connell (1817-1869) was a London maker who was sucvceeded by his son William George, who was also a prominent London retailer of clocks who also had a shop in Paris in 1881

A late 19th century archaising walnut veneer and gilt metal mantel clock, the drum case raised on an elaborate veneered pine aedicule consisting of a shaped base with scumbled top, supporting two pairs of alabaster columns with entasis and gilt metal Corinthian capitals, shaped frieze and cornice, segmental pediments, all with applied stamped relief gilt metal decoration, centred by a mask, the monstrance pendulum appearing below behind a painted wooden reserve simulating a curtain, a bas relief gilt metal figure of Apollo in front of a mirror back, the brass dial with Arabic chapter, engine turned bezel, the associated fourteen day French movement striking on a gong, 24in (61cm). Condition Report: Case missing an element to the upper part; damage to top of one column with other minor damage to case, dial silvering rubbed off, glass missing.
