A French Art Deco figural clock, the gilt metal modelled as a kneeling girl in flowing robes, holding aloft a chromium plated clock with blue glass chapter ring, set on a diamond-form alabaster base, 36cm high.Figure likely spelter or base metal, the gilding rubbed a little in places. Clock plating rubbed in places. Movement winds, sets and runs at time of report (not guaranteed for timekeeping or longevity of running). Base has some small chips to the edges.
An 18th century vernacular, 30-hour longcase clock by John Tibbott, the scotia cornice above a square door, enclosing an 11" brass dial, with date aperture and moulded spandrels emblematic of the seasons and signed 'Jno Tibbott, Newtown', striking on a bell, some damage, 200cm high, with pendulum and weight (4)There is a John Tibbott, Newtown, listed in Brittens. He was born in 1757 and died in 1820 and recorded as working from from 1777-1797.Baillie, G, H; Britten's Old Clocks and Watches; London, 1989, p624.Movement and dial possibly associated with the case. Case with poor colour and either faded, or stripped of previous paint finish, as sides of hood black. Front of hood a lovely colour. A nice and vernacular type with chunky elements. Chips, dents and scratches consistent with age and use, especially plinth, corners, mouldings and cornice.
An Edwardian oak gun cabinet, of clock case form with ogee cornice above a small ammunition drawer and a long door with dark-stained border opening to an interior fitted for two rifles/shotguns, the panelled base box raised on bracket feet, 37cm wide x 26cm deep x 155cm high.Solid and sturdy. Nice honey colour and figuring. Minor cosmetic marks to exterior. Interior shows some wear and signs of use.
