Unusual antique continental alarm clock marked JunghansCondition report: The approx dimensions are H: 25cm x W: 19cm x D: 9cm. It has a key with it, but it will not wind any present & therefore it may have been overwound in the past. There is a crack in the glass as per the original image. The wooden body is in good condition & the hands are all present. The clock face has foxing commensurate with age & the face is marked Junghans which may indicate it is German rather than French, although the vendor thought it was French having bought it there many years ago.
A 19th century French gilt bronze Rococo Revival mantel clock, the whole surmounted with a musical cherub above a convex white enamel dial with Arabic and Roman numerals, twin winding holes for a French brass eight day cylinder movement striking on a bell, the balloon shaped swept case further adorned with instruments and song book, having fret cut side panels (with pendulum and winding key) h.43cm.Something appears to be missing from putti’s hand.Enamel good overall, some minor marks only.Case generally intact.Glass to reverse intact.Some cracks to the back legs.Untested and probably requires a service.No glass dome.
An early 20th century lacquered brass cased carriage clock, having an enamelled dial with Roman numerals and Arabic outer numerals, signed D. Todd of Paris, having visible platform lever escapement and barrel-going movement, h.13cm (handle down).Case quite scratched and tarnished.Small crack to lower right of the enamel.Makers name slightly worn.Glass intact but slightly scratched.
An 18th century mahogany cased longcase clock, the rosette carved arched broken swan-neck pediment above the brass face, the silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals enclosing twin winding apertures, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, engraved Wm. Hargreaves, Settle, the case with arched crossbanded door, standing on shaped bracket feet. Approximately 235 cm high.
A late 18th/early 19th century mahogany longcase clock, the arched top surmounted with brass eagle and ball finial, flanked by turned finials, the brass face with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals enclosing the twin winding apertures, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, engraved Smith London, the case with moulded arched door above the moulded panel, standing on a plinth base. 225 cm high.
