SESTREL; a chrome maritime-themed wall clock in the form of a porthole, with a ship's wheel surround, a further similar clock case (lacking movement), a wall-mounted barometer, the silvered dial inscribed 'Thomas Armstrong & Brothers Ltd, Manchester, Liverpool & London 3176' and a carved oak cased example for restoration (4).
W. B. K. & FILS, PARIS; an early 20th century gilded brass arched top mantel clock, the 5" white enamelled dial set with Roman numerals, flanked by barleytwist uprights, striking on a gong, the movement stamped with the maker's name and further stamped with an 'A' beneath a crown and '953248', with applied plaque to the front inscribed 'Hygiea Lodge Nr. 2664 Ladies Festival 1980', height 28.5cm (af).Condition Report: - The minute hand is present but detached and has been snapped. The central hub is still on the movement, with the hand itself loose in the front glass. A large portion of the gilded brass finish has been polished away, showing the base metal below.
E. HIRSH; an early 20th century mahogany cased station-type wall clock, the 12" enamelled dial set with Roman numerals, inscribed to the upper portion 'E. Hirsh' and further inscribed to the lower portion '61A Ledbury Road, W', overall diameter 38cm (af).Condition Report: The finish on the dial is heavily crazed and coming away in some areas with further patch repairs visible, case has light surface wear including scuffs, scrapes, fading, staining, etc, commensurate with use and age.
A collectors' lot to include a large Howard pewter vase of conical form inscribed 'Jubilee Competition Green Mount Gold Club 6th May 1935', 22 x 14cm, a London Clock Co., quartz brass mantel clock, a Victorian ruby glass sugar sifter with plated top, a pair of opera/racing binoculars with ivorine body and eyepiece, in leather case, etc (7).
An unusual early 20th century French Art Deco brass table top clock in the form of a lizard, with associated Breveté S.G.D.G. square section alarm clock set with Arabic numerals and bearing the lion logo, 8.5 x 26cm (af).Condition Report: Areas of the lizard's body are slightly dull and stained, there is a small dint to the right hand side of the midriff, it does not sit flat on all four so it is slightly out of shape across the feet and as mentioned in the description, it is not the original drum clock, it is an associated brass cased alarm clock by Breveté which is missing its back cover and is slightly dented on one corner, presumably from the process of making it fit onto the lizard. It does appear to have been soldered into the lizard's tail but it is not the original clock for this design, however, overall rather pleasing.
A late 18th/early 19th century oak and mahogany longcase clock, with swan neck pediment above square painted floral dial set with Arabic numerals, date aperture, inner dial, two key wind holes, subsidiary minute dial, and minute outer track, Jaz Lomax, Blackburn, shaped door flanked by quarter columns, on square bracket feet, eight-day chiming movement, height 217cm.
WEDGWOOD; a collection of jasperware, to include a blue urn with cover and finial of a young boy, height approx. 31cm, two green plates and two similar blue plates, diameter 24cm, blue Christmas plates for 1970, 1993 and 1997, a cup and saucer, a dark blue oval trinket box, an arched metal clock with Classical decoration and suspended cameo, height approx. 9.2cm, a ceramic arched clock, two Christmas decorations and a pin with a ship, in fitted boxes, etc.
A late 19th/early 20th century gilt brass and ebonised architectural type mantel clock surmounted with an eagle above a sphinx guardian figure, the 10cm white enamelled dial set with Roman numerals flanked by tapering brass pillars, raised on spreading square section foot above a further plinth and lion's paw terminals, height 35cm, also an early 20th century Danish combination desk clock, scrolling calendar and money bank, patent number 338600, in original dark blue crazed finish, the silvered dial set with Arabic numerals, marked to the reverse 'Savings - Calendar No. 632', height 19cm (2).Condition Report: The ebonised mantel clock has crazing and some damage to the top plinth but it is not visible from the front perspective, further scuffs and scrapes visible throughout commensurate with use and age. Areas of brass finish rubbing away, clock movement unmarked but striking on a bell. The desk clock is heavily crazed throughout with minor losses visible to the back upper edge and one side. We don't have a key to unlock the money box which is currently locked and appears to be missing clock speed adjustment, unsure how one is supposed to adjust the scrolling calendar although ticks when wound.
