A late 18th century oak longcase clock - the weight driven 30 hour movement with four knopped pillars, outside countwheel strike and anchor escapement, fronted by a square brass dial signed 'Thos. Lewis' to the matted centre, with silvered Roman chapter ring with outer Arabic five minute markers, gilt brass foliate, floral and rocaille spandrels, silvered arched calendar aperture and pierced polished steel hands, the case with ogee moulded cornice and turned half columns to the hood, the trunk with Dutch arched door and quarter columns to the angles, on a plain base with plinth, 199.5cm. high.
A large antique cast iron turret clock dial - early to mid-20th century, with skeletonised Roman numeral chapter ring, 90cm. diameter, with original black painted finish, together with a synchronous tower movement by English Clock System Ltd. of Kings Cross, London and the original pressed metal, lead weighted clock hands, movement for restoration. * This clock was originally used at Westwood's Grammar School, Northleach, Gloucestershire. Please see image to see the clock in situ on the school building. * Condition: The cast iron dial is in good condition, with no damage. There is some surface rust and old white overpainting to the edges throughout. The movement has surface corrosion and will require complete restoration. The minute hand has a partial split to the metal just above the lead weight.
