Late 19th / early 20th century French ormolu and porcelain mantle clock, painted with a romantic vignette and classical architecture, the two train movement by Japy Freres striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the urn finial detached but present.Condition Report: General wear and tear consistent with age.Gilt worn throughout.Glass in back door cracked.Finial detached but all parts appear to be present.Interior of base has some sort of sealant applied to it.Chips to dial around key holes, some losses to enamelled dot decoration and wear to decoration.

An early 20th century mahogany cased GWR dial wall clock with a fusee movement, the painted dial with roman numerals, marked GWR, Originally installed at Radyr in 1926. overall 42cm diameter sold together with original receipt from British Railways and corresponding letter to Earl Stanley Baldwin, 2 x keys The following lot is from the estate of Edward Baldwin, grandson of Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin, and the fourth Earl of Bewdley. Stanley Baldwin was from an extraordinary family: Rudyard Kipling was his first cousin, Edward Burne-Jones and Edward Poynter were both uncles, his mother Louisa was a novelist, and her siblings included the famous Macdonald sisters. Edward Baldwin was committed to rehabilitating his grandfather's reputation and, being an only child, spent much of his life as sole custodian of these family portraits and personal objects, dating mainly from the late Victorian era. In good condition with minor surface marks, untested at time of cataloguing, includes pendulum and key, sold together with original receipt from British Railways and corresponding letter to Earl Stanley Baldwin. Ivorine number plate is there GWR 2215.The bottom drawer has a latch. More pictures uploaded.

An early 18th walnut longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass breakarch dial with silvered boss to arch, inscribed 'William Barrow London', above a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, framing a matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds, engraved birds and scrolls and date aperture, all cornered with cast and pierced gilt spandrels, the hood with moulded pediment above pierced fret panels, an arch glazed door and a pair of turned columns, the trunk with arched door above a plain base and plinth, height 222cm (alterations and restoration), with pendulum and a pair of brass cased weights. Note: William Barrow is a recorded London clockmaker, apprenticed in 1700 and made free of the Clockmakers' Company in 1710.
