A large French brass carriage clock, with alarm and centre seconds, two-train, the movement inscribed "M. & S. Woog a Paris", similar marks to the dial. Height excluding carrying handle 5.75 ins, 1797 grams (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This clock is working. It appears to be striking correctly. Both trains wind. The top glass and right hand glass are both in good condition, the left hand glass has a very small chip to the bottom left hand corner inside the case and not outside. This is a very minor problem. The case itself is in generally in good order but could do with a polish. The clock dial is in good condition with no cracks or any issues. We do not have the carrying case or a clock key.
A large Victorian black slate mantle clock, with visible brocot escapement. Width 19 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is generally in good order. There is one chip to the rear left corner of the upper moulding of the base. This is approximately 1 inch in length. It is on the underside edge of the moulding. The face and glass are in good order as is the metalware. The clock movement appears to strike correctly but is overwound on the gong side. We do not have a pendulum.
A Mappin & Webb Limited mantle clock, by Elliott Clocks, walnut case, silvered brass dial, captive key wind. Height including carrying handle 9 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in first class condition. The brass surround to the dial is a little tarnished and has lost some of its lacquered surface. The clock face is in very good condition. The movement appears to be overwound and the clock is not currently ticking.
A George III mahogany longcase clock, with swans neck pediment above the arched glazed door enclosing the silvered brass dial with moon phase and eight-day striking movement above the long trunk door flanked by fluted quarter columns and raised on bracket feet (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Height including finial 98.5 ins. This clock is in exceptionally good condition from the point of view of the case. It does not require any restoration as far as we can see. It has a very good colour and good patination. The door is not warped. The dial is in very good condition. The movement appears to be complete and is currently striking as it should. The clock is not currently ticking as the spring that holds the gong train barrel is detached. This is a very minor problem.
A George III longcase clock, with George I walnut case having a straight caddy top above a broken arched hood with blind fretted scrollwork frieze, the trunk with arched door and base each of finely figured veneer with herringbone banding, the whole of good quality with cross grain mouldings, the later striking movement being eight-day and with moon phase to the arch, silvered chapter ring and engraved centre with calendar aperture signed "Joseph Bell" within Rococo spandrels. Joseph Bell was probably of Burnhill Row, London, circa 1780. Sold with receipt dated April 1938 for £32. Height 92 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally good order. There are some small losses to the blind fretwork carving beneath the arch of the hood. The hood door is not warped. The side panels are in good clean condition. The trunk door is not warped and locks correctly. There are one or two small areas of veneer and moulding missing on the case but no significant losses. The base is in good order. The bottom plinth maybe later than rest of the case but is in keeping. We have had the clock ticking away and cannot see any issues with the movement. The overall colour of the case is good. The silvering on the dial is a little tired.
A fine George III longcase clock by Monkhouse of Carlisle, with swans neck pediment with ho-ho bird to centre above the arched glazed door enclosing the 12.5 inch arched silvered brass dial with moon phase to the arch, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and two-train striking movement flanked by fluted columns, the long trunk door being crossbanded and also flanked by fluted columns, the base with canted angles and raised on ogee bracket feet. Height including finial 87 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This clock is in generally extremely good condition. The case is in very good order with only minor stress fractures to the veneer in places. None of this is lifting and the case does not require any cabinet work prior to sale or use. The only minor issue is the brass lock escutcheon on the long door is missing. The silvered brass dial is in generally good order. The clock is currently ticking away and we have both weights and pendulum. We have a key. The movement is of good quality and is currently ticking away and striking as it should. The trunk door is not warped.
A 19th century oak and mahogany banded longcase clock, by J. Smith, Keighley, thirty hour movement, the case with swans neck pediment, arched glazed door and raised on bracket feet. Height 98 ins. An early 20th century gilt brass desk timepiece, with barometer and thermometer. Width 12 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The clock movement appears to be complete and untouched. It is however fully wound and not currently ticking. The movement is not particularly dirty. The barometer does appear to be operating, it is currently sitting at 75. The thermometer tube is complete and again appears to be operational. The case is in generally reasonable condition. There are minor scuffs and marks to the black slate which appears to have a lacquered finish to the surface. There are one or two edge chips. The brasswork to the front is showing signs of perishing to the original finish and lacquer. The base and feet are original and intact. The silvering to the thermometer dials is in reasonable order with some slight discolouration and the odd surface scratch. The numerals to the dial are again showing losses to the paintwork. All three rear doors are quite badly scratched and one is dented in places. When the piece is moved around the pointer on the barometer moves which may indicate there is something not quite right here. It is now back at 73.4.
A boulle marquetry cased bracket clock, with brass chapter ring, Roman numerals and two-train striking movement. Width 9.5 ins, height 17 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The clock winds on both trains. The dial is a little rubbed in places but in generally good condition. The velvet backing to the dial is a little discoloured but has no significant losses or damage. The case is in generally good order. The brasswork to the rear corner of the caddy top is lifting in the bottom right hand corner for approximately 2 cm square. There are small pieces of brass and tortoiseshell missing in this area but this is fairly minor. The front right hand corner of the ebony veneered cornice has a small surface loss and there is a crack to the return on the left hand side. Both the right hand and left hand panels are in good order as is the front door and surround. The plinth base is in good condition and the feet are original. The rear door is in good order. The rear top right hand finial has been repaired at some point and the top half of this is missing. All other finials are present.
An Art Deco marble clock garniture, with French two-train movement and marked "Diat a Laroche-Migennes", flanked by gilt bird mounts and raised on short gilt brass feet. Width 50 cm, height 28 cm and with accompanying matching vases (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in generally very good condition. There are obviously minor surface blemishes but no damage of any significance to the marble either front or back. The front left hand foot to the clock case is detached but we have it. There is some discolouration to the metalwork particularly on the left hand bird but no problems of any significance. The clock face is in good order and it does strike as it should when the hands are moved. We have the pendulum. The screw that retains the bell is missing but we have the bell. The clock winds on both trains and is currently ticking away. Both accompanying vases are in good condition with no significant damage or any issues.

CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in generally very good original condition. There are no significant losses, scuffs or damage of any note. The case is simply a little dirty. The same can be said of the dial. The silvering is generally good but the brasswork is a little tarnished. The pointers are original. The brass feet are original. We do not have a key but the clock does wind. The movement appears to be complete and untouched but it is not currently ticking.
