The clock 10 cms high. CONDITION REPORTS: Some slight enamel wear/loss, general wear, slight wear to case.

An early 19th century Russian silver, diamond and enamel mounted malachite desk clock, in the style of Carl Faberge, stamped for 88 zolotniks, with maker's mark of AR The rectangular main body mounted with an Imperial eagle finial and set with an engine turned gilt dialled clock with Arabic numerals bordered by a narrow band of enamelled laurel wreath decoration inset with four small diamonds, the plinth base with central scrolling floral and anthemion spandrel above the cast winged paw feet. 14 cms high. Note: Marks of workmasters whose signatures appear in conjunction with Faberge's mark but have not been identified include AR. Similar elements of this clock can be found on various Faberge items including on pages 38 and 130 of Carl Faberge Goldsmith to the Imperial Court of Russia by Snowman, published by Debrett and entry 105 in Faberge of the Russian Master Goldsmiths by Gerard Hill. CONDITION REPORTS: Some cracks/restorations to malachite, some scuffing and scratching, general wear, clock face glass missing.
