AN INTERESTING ROYAL VIENNA STYLE HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN AND GILT BRONZE DESK CLOCK, 19TH CENTURY. Of architectural form, the squared clock case containing four porcelain plaques each finely painted with neoclassic scenes of semi-nude beauties and putti, containing a movement with gilt bronze circular chapter ring with porcelain numerals, surmounted by a gilt bronze mounted domed finial and raised on a squared porcelain plinth finely painted with allegorical putti representing the four seasons, the base with blue shield mark. Height 12.25 inches (31 cm).
A FINE FRENCH HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN SEVRES STYLE BRACKET CLOCK, 19TH CENTURY. The rococo style clock finely painted with an architectural scene, birds, and gilt scrolls on a bleu celeste ground and raised on a matching porcelain bracket style base, contains original movement, later electrified. Total height 14.5 inches (36.6 cm).
A FINE VIENNESE ENAMELED AND JEWELED ARCHITECTUAL TABLE CLOCK, LATE 19TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY BY HERMANN BOHM. The pentagonal case with classical enameled scenes and enameled clock dial below a conical form spire with figures of knights in niches below putti holding garlands and surmounted with a classical warrior finial. Apparently unmarked. Height 12.5 inches (32 cm).
A FINE AUSTRIAN GUILLOCHE ENAMEL ANNULAR CLOCK, EARLY 20TH CENTURY. Of sectioned egg form with finely enameled cartouches of young beauties on a pink translucent guilloche enamel and engine turned ground, the two sections divided by two silvered annular chapter rings within gilt bronze mounts raised on a bell shaped enameled stand with octagonal onyx plinth. Stamped "Made in Austria." Height 7 inches (18 cm). For another example see Fontaines, February 19, 2011 auction, lot 195.
AN EXTREMLY FINE FRENCH NAPOLEAN III DIEPPE CARVED IVORY MANTLE CLOCK, 19TH CENTURY. The rectangular case overlaid completely on four sides with overlapping carved leaf work and figural elements comprising winged putto, grotesque facial masks, crowned seahorses and armorial lions, with circular clock dial centered between two carved and layered armorial crests each above an inscribed ribbon "POUR Y. PARVENIR" (strive to attain) and raised on a sloped carved ivory plinth with carved ivory lions` paw feet. Height 23.75 inches (60.5 cm). This Dieppe motif comprising carved layers of leaves with classical figures and armorial crests was utilized in numerous utilitarian forms including chairs, case furniture, and more commonly, wall mirrors. A GOOD LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE AND MAHOGANY LONG CASE CLOCK, AFTER PAUL SORMANI, 19TH CENTURY. The waisted circular clock case mounted with large gilt bronze winged putti resting on bronze cloud forms. Raised on a tapering rectangular stand with gilt bronze sunburst mask plaque of Apollo above a hinged pendulum door mounted with floral urns and foliate scrolls above gilt bronze lion paw feet. A VERY FINE FRENCH RESTORATION GILT BRONZE AND ALABASTER MANTLE CLOCK. With two sculpted kneeling figures of women representing music flanking an oval case with draped swags containing a silk thread bronze movement and surmounted with a gilt bronze putto on stylized cloud form raised on a shaped base set with gilt bronze plaques with musical motifs. The enameled dial inscribed "Bourdier". Height 15 inches (38 cm), length 16 inches (41 cm).
A LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE FRENCH SECOND EMPIRE PATINATED AND GILT BRONZE FIGURAL TABLE CLOCK. In the form of a Classical woman with young child supporting a circular bronze clock and raised on a rockery base with tied bundle of wheat. The enameled dial inscribed "Denier Paris". Height 22.5 inches (57 cm).
AN INTERESTING CONTINENTAL GILT BRONZE CLOCK FOR THE CHINESE MARKET, 19TH CENTURY. The circular movement embossed with stylized wave pattern raised on a reticulated base with mythical beast support and with chapter ring enameled with Chinese characters surmounted with a figural rooster. Height 15 inches (38 cm).
A FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE, ALABASTER AND CRYSTAL REGULATOR, 19TH CENTURY. The case with scrolled foliate gilt bronze mounts containing a floral garland enameled clock dial inscribed "Gure Horloger Saintes" below a gilt bronze terminal of feathered arrows, crossed quiver and torch, floral garlands and ribbons and accompanied by candelabra garnitures with figural putto stems. Height 18.5 inches (47 cm).
A FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE AND ALABASTER CLOCK GARNITURE, 19TH CENTURY. With a figural putto surmounting a circular gilt bronze clock movement raised on four columns with flame form terminals. Accompanied by matching scrolled foliate two arm three-part candlestands. Height 16 inches (41 cm).
