VAT)One has re-glued pierced rim above pheasant and four "arcades" have hairlines. One has a section of piercing missing at top back (one piece loose), two pieces re-glued and one hairline
Four late 18th/early 19th century cylindrical mugs, including Worcester style and three with dragon handles. Tallest 15 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The large mug with the dragon handle has two top lip chips. There is a large L shaped hairline crack running for +/- 13 cm. There is a further 3 cm hairline crack. The piece is generally very dirty. There are some surface scratches and minor losses to the paintwork. The smaller similar mug is in generally good order. We can see no evidence of any damage, no repairs and no restoration. The smallest blue and white mug has a detached handle. This has been repaired before. The main body of the mug is in good order with no issues. The large Worcester style mug has a hairline crack running from the top lip right down to the foot of the mug and across the base. There is also a small section that has been repaired where this hairline starts. There is a significant glaze imperfection around the foot rim and also a chip.
A Liverpool Pennington tea bowl, a Worcester Fence pattern saucer, tea bowl and large bowl each with crescent mark, together with a Worcester rose patterned cup with W mark. CONDITION REPORT: The cup has four very small chips to the inner edge of the top lip. There is one small chip to the underside edge of the foot rim and a hairline crack running from the centre of the base to the edge of the foot rim. The saucer is in generally good order with only very minor nibbles and slightly thin glaze to the edge of the foot rim. The largest of the bowls has a feint hairline crack running +/- 30% of the way around the body. This is visible with the naked eye both inside and out. There are some glaze imperfections to the centre. The medium sized bowl is a little discoloured. It has a very small rim chip and 1 cm hairline crack from this point. The base has very minor edge nibbles. The small tea bowl is in generally good order. It has one tiny nibble to the foot rim.
A late 18th/early 19th century polychrome sparrow beak jug, possibly Worcester, together with a blue and white sparrow beak jug, possibly Caughley, a Worcester cylindrical mug decorated with a harbour scene, a blue and white chinoiserie lidded vessel and a Delft ware caddy. Tallest 14 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The blue and white sparrow beak jug is in generally good condition. There is a firing imperfection to the top lip by the sparrow beak and a discoloured hairline type mark in the fold where the sparrow beak joins the main body. This is more firing mark than hairline crack but is grey in colour and runs for about 6 mm from the top lip. The handle is in good order. The pattern is generally in good condition. There are no problems with the foot rim. The polychrome jug has a discoloured spout, a small chip and hairline crack running from the centre of the sparrow beak down the channel to the main body of the jug. The handle is in good order. The main body is in generally good condition as is the pattern. The foot rim has two large chips, principally to the underside edge. The interior is a little discoloured. The Worcester mug has had a break and repair to the handle. There is a wavy hairline crack running across the base visible from the underside and from within. The gilding is a little rubbed. The painting is in generally good order with minor paint losses to the bottom edge. The blue painted panel appears to have been repainted but it is difficult to tell what this might be obscuring. The Delft tea caddy is in generally good condition with only minor imperfections to the unglazed section of the foot rim. The lidded vessel is in generally good order with no issues. There are some minor losses to the gilding but other than this no problems.
A large collection of early 19th century and later New Hall style tea bowls and saucers, together with a variety of other tea bowls including Worcester style etc. (36) CONDITION REPORT: Twenty two pieces have small chips, hairline cracks or other problems. The remaining items are in generally good order. These include the Worcester bowl with birds and butterfly, three tea bowls with thistle to centre and one saucer, Sunderland type lustre “Rural” saucer, two tea bowls and one matching saucer, two blue and white cups with gilt rims, shaped blue and white pin tray, New Hall style saucer, Worcester style tea bowl, Chinese tea bowl and one further New Hall style saucer. All pieces do have rubbing to the gilding as one would expect.
A study group of Chinese and English porcelains 18th century, including a Chelsea octagonal shallow dish painted in Kakiemon colours with the Hob in the Well pattern, a Chinese plate painted in the Two Quail pattern, another painted in the Meissen manner with a European girl carrying a basket of fruit within a scrollwork border, a large Worcester blue and white mug painted with the Prunus Fence pattern, a Chinese bell-shaped mug painted with a deer and a bat on an oeil de perdix ground, and a Chinese armorial coffee cup decorated with a shield and the motto 'Sola Virtus Invicta', damages and repairs, 23cm max.
