Two Royal Worcester 'Japan' teacups and saucers, late 19th century, each of canted square form, with relief moulded floral and foliate side panels and monochrome prunus ground with painted peacock in a gilt outlined shield, gilt highlights throughout, green printed maker's mark and registration mark for 1881 to base, the teacups 6.3cm high, the saucers 12.5cm wide (4) CONDITION REPORT: The pieces are in good overall condition, showing no visible evidence of chips, cracks, losses, or restoration. There is some rubbing to the gilt highlights throughout, and extensive rubbing to the gilt of the saucers around each central cup well. There are some fine surface scratches, but no visible evidence of surface crazing. There is light surface wear, rubbing to the gilding, and some light surface scratches. Slight unburnished gilding to the cover.
