A Barr (Worcester) Japan pattern part dessert-service, circa 1800, painted and richly gilt in a bright version of the Imari palette with birds among flowering Oriental shrubs and branches issuing from pierced rockwork and terracing, within flowerhead and leaf border below a shaped rim, comprising: two tureens, covers and stands, three shell-shaped dishes, three square dishes, two oval dishes, an oval bowl, and eighteen plates, incised B marks to some pieces, the shell dishes also with puce script, the large oval dish 34.5cm (13.5") wide/see illustration Condition Report: Barr service. All pieces with little to no wear - enamels and gilding excellent. Tureens, covers and stands - One finial broken twice through stem and repaired. Other finial with a concealed chip to tip. One tureen broken to the side with two large U-shaped pieces and smaller associated pieces rivet repaired, some filler to the interior. Both handles broken in two or three places and glued. Other tureen in good condition. Stands in good condition. Oval bowl - broken from handle to handle, around the well, with a small associated chip to rim. Small under-glaze chip to each handle. Two oval dishes - one broken through the middle, into five pieces, riveted. The other in good condition. Three shell-shaped dishes - all in good condition Three shaped square dishes - one with a footrim chip. One broken through from top to bottom, and a small section of the rim broken out, all rivet repaired. Plates - one with a flat chip to the upper side of the rim, touched-in with gilt pen to disguise. One with a small footrim chip. All others in very good condition.

PITT WILLIAM: The Younger (1759-1806) British Prime Minister 1783-1801, 1804-06. L.S., W Pitt, one page, 4to, Downing Street, 9th November 1790, to [E. Wigley, MP]. Pitt states, in full, ‘The Meeting of Parliament being fixed for Thursday the 25th Instant, I think it my Duty to apprize you that Business of the greatest Importance will be brought on immediately after the opening of the Session’. With integral leaf bearing a contemporary ink annotation stating that the Call of the House letter was addressed to E. Wigley, M.P. for Worcester. Some minor creasing and a very small hole at the centre, not affecting the text or signature, about VG Edmund Wigley (1758-1821) English Politician & Barrister.

Two Worcester porcelain tea cups and saucers, bearing the Meissen crossed swords mark and the no. 9 in underglazed blue, the first decorated with floral sprays and trailing leaves around a maroon band with gilt rim, the second with a gilt pattern, cups 4.9cm high, saucers 13cm and 13.3cm diameter - Part of a Private owner collection CONDITION REPORT: Cup One - 8cm diameter and 4.9cm high. Flower painting to centre worn, especially the rose head. Very tiny chip to the rim. Saucer One - 13cm diameter. One area of the rim with several small chips/nibbles (illustrated) and very minor wear to the gilding on the rest of the rim, a few very small scratches to the floral spray decoration to the centre. Cup Two - 8cm diameter and 4.9cm high. Very minor wear to the gilding on the rim. Pitting to glaze on the interior of the bowl. Saucer Two - 13.3cm diameter. Wear to gilding and general wear to glaze in the centre of the saucer. Two very small chips to the foot of the saucer. Unmarked.

A pair of small Flight Barr and Barr Worcester porcelain cylindrical spill vases, decorated with landscapes within gilt surround and pinky ground with vermicule and Greek key decoration, each marked to the base with the factory name and two addresses, '...manufacturers to their Majesties the Prince of Wales and the Royal Family', in puce and a teacup and saucer with the crest of a lion's head facing right within gilt surround and apricot ground with gilt vermicule decoration - Part of a Private owner collection CONDITION REPORT: Each vase measures 12cm high x 5.7cm diameter of the foot. Vase One - Top half of vase broken into three pieces and re-glued. Section lacking and filled in (13mm x 9mm at the widest points). A large piece of sellotape has been applied to the interior of the vase to help hold the filled section in place. Vase Two - One large section broken and re-glued in the top 1/4 of the vase. Gilding worn to the foot. Tea cup - 6cm high. Hairline crack below the handle. What I had originally thought to be staining was in fact dirt and wiped off! Saucer with wear to the gilding to the centre. 14.9cm diameter
A collection of six honey pots comprised of four Wedgwood examples, a Davenport example and one other with unassociated lid - Part of a Private owner collection CONDITION REPORT: Pot One - Wedgwood (Grey/green glaze with gilt bands). Impressed factory mark to base. Very tiny chip to the rim of the pot. Large chip to the inside of the rim of the lid. Gilding to knop worn. Small crack to the inside of the rim with a tiny chip beside it. 11cm high Pot Two - Wedgwood (Straw coloured in the form of a straw bee hive!). Impressed mark to the base. Patches of staining to the glaze on the interior of the bowl and foot. Crack to lid handle where the handle meets the lid (possibly a firing fault). Two small chips to the underside of the rim. 11cm high Pot Three - Wedgwood (Reeded to simulate a straw beehive) Impressed mark to the base and numbered 892 in gilt. Pot with chips to the foot rim and cracks and a single chip to the top rim. Gilding on base rim very worn and patches of staining to the glaze on the interior. Lid with two chips to the inside of the rim and a crack also. Crack around the finial, 13cm high. Pot Four - Wedgwood (Cream coloured in the form of a beehive). Firing cracks to the rim of the base. Impressed factory mark. Stained to the interior. Small chip to the base of the foot. Crack running down the mould mark on the outside of the body. Lid handle cracked at the top, the lid with a small amount of patchy staining. A small white filled area to the inside of the lid over a crack - Not sure if it is later restoration or done by the factory. 9cm high. Pot Five - Locke and Co. Worcester. Printed factory mark. Base in good condition. Unassociated lid with heavily crazed glaze. Pot Six - Davenport - Base extensively cracked with one section of the foot rim which has been broken off and re-glued. Chip to rim. Lid OK. 10.5cm high

Top broken and re-glued, an area of paint is lacking from the vignette and there is a hairline crack to one of the handles Cup and Saucer - Saucer 12.5cm diam with slight wear to the gilding Cup - Broken, re-glued and restored, 5cm high Two-handled vase - Some wear to the gilding, 14cm high Small basket - Hairline crack on the rim and the handle has been restored. Small squat bottle vase - Neck restored and has small scratches to the purple ground, 9.5cm high Worcester pierced vase - Large section broken with much of it lacking, the loose section that remains with old style staple repair attached, smaller chip to the other side of the vase, 9.5cm high

Miniature Davenport ewer - Neck broken off and neck and body have been previously broken and re-glued/restored. Small sections missing, 6.2cm high. Two similar porcelain salts and a spoon - Gilt decoration worn. Worcester miniature mug - Tiny chip to the rim by the handle. Vienna porcelain miniature mug - Gilding worn in places, especially the handle. Vase and cover - Chip to rim of vase with hairline crack. Porcelain box - Restoration to one corner of the box, the lid signed P Roehe. Sevres bisque porcelain swan - Firing crack to inside of the bowl beneath the neck. Very minor wear to the gilding, 8.5cm high. Miniature yellow ground cup and saucer - Meissen style blue crossed swords mark. Cup broken in two and a small chip to the rim - all re-glued. Factory mark on the cup scratched through. Saucer - wear to gilding on the rim
