Over 80 3 ½” x 2 ½” photos of service on board the two ships plus family and leave photos/tourist sets. Annotated inside the cover a period of his service: starting in England July 1935, on to Gibraltar, Malta, Alexandria, Palestine, Cyprus, back to Malta 1936 before moving to HMS Antelope in the 3rd Destroyer Flotilla Mediterranean Fleet for rescue service during the Spanish Civil War, noting a total of 266 refugees taken on board. Family photos at home Sydenham, south-east London. Also in the album are photos prior to his HMS Ardent service out in Hong Kong on board HMS Hermes - photo of HMS Eagle ‘relieving Hermes 1932’.
