GEORGE V: (1865-1936) King of the United Kingdom 1910-36. Unusual D.S., George P, as Prince of Wales, at the foot, one page, folio, Trafalgar Square, London, 15th October 1908. The partially printed document, completed in manuscript, was issued by the Royal Humane Society and states that, at a meeting of the committee, it was unanimously agreed that George Briggs `is justly entitled to the Honorary Testimonial of this Society....for having on the 25th July 1908 gone to the rescue of a child who was in imminent danger of drowning in the canal at Worcester and whose life he gallantly saved.` Signed by the Prince in his capacity as President of the society. The manuscript text and signatures are very slightly faded, although completely legible. Neatly mounted. Together with an autograph album containing over 20 signed clipped pieces, a few A.Ls.S. etc., by various individuals including Charles Beresford, Marquis of Anglesey etc. G, 2
