A 19th century Royal Worcester porcelain twin handled vaseTypically worked on an ivory ground, puce printed marks to base and date code for 1890, model number 1431 and registered number 145173; together with a Mintons porcelain Aesthetic Movement box and cover, decorated in the style of Christopher Dresser, puce printed mark to base and incised number 1512. 25 cm and 9 cm high respectively. (2) CONDITION REPORTS: Worcester vase good, with slight rubbing, box and cover good with slight rubbing/minor imperfections, cover rim chipped and with losses.

More, [1730].⁂ Rare poem on the scandalous life of Lady Abergavenny, nee Katharine Tatton. Her first husband, the 13th Lord Abergavenny died of smallpox some 5 months after their marriage; she subsequently married his cousin and heir to the title but had several love affairs, most scandalous of which was with Richard Lyddel who was tried in 1730 a few months after her death "for carrying on a criminal conversation with the late Lady Abergavenny". This copy was formerly in the Brett-Smith collection.
