A Worcester Vine Leaf moulded dish, the veins in relief, finely painted with a central bouquet of flowers, surrounded by small sprigs, the edges in a bright green, twig handle. 23cm long, c.1765 (amended date)Note: Similar dishes to be found in the Barbara Leake Collection, Bonhams, 2008, Lot 186 and 187 The moulded veining is so detailed that it is highly likely a real leaf was used, at least to assist in the original mould-making. Condition Report: Minor firing crack to edge near leaf handle. The handle itself with restoration. Small overdecorated chip to edge.

An unusual Worcester wrythen moulded sugar bowl/cream bowl, cover and stand, decorated in the studio of James Giles, decorated with alternating flower sprigs and caterpillars, butterflies, ladybirds and moths, in gilt and dark blue, yellow ozier borders, the interior with blue rose, outlined in gilt, the cover with flower bud finial, the saucer 17.5cm diam, workman's mark to all, c.1756-58Vendor's Note: Label stating there is a similar bowl and cover in the Jeremy Street Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum. 1901. The only information that I have been able to gather is a reference saying Transferred from the Museum of Practical Geology, Jermyn Street. Condition Report: Bowl, cover and stand good. Heavy pitting to exterior rim.

The little dog still in front. Condition Report: Slight wear to decoration.

A Worcester Les Garcons Chinois tea bowl and saucer, printed in the style of Pillement, with two Chinese boys, one standing, the other seated with a bow on a rococo branch, a castle in the distance, the verso with a Chinese gentleman sitting under a hut, holding a rod and loop, above rococo scrollwork, black line rim, 11.5cm diam, c.1760, the saucer 11.4 cm diam, c.1760.Note: I think these designs seem to be a compromise between the Chinese style ending and the Rococo style starting. Condition Report: Good condition. Light surface wear.

The design seems to have been created by Doctor George Davis a very important painter of the time. It was certainly adopted by James Giles and were called `Fantastic Birds' Condition Report: Restored cover with nibbles to finial. General wear. Some chips to foot rim.

A Worcester tea bowl and saucer, printed after Robert Hancock, in brownish black and picked out in enamel colours, with The Old Dutch Barn, the verso with landscape and Tower House farm, the saucer 11.7 diam, c.1765Vendor's Note: Prior to 1753 all porcelain and enamels were hand decorated. Transfer printing is one of the few entirely English contributions to the art of porcelain. Robert Hancock was a talented engraver he worked at Battersea Works, part proprietor of this works was John Brooks who is thought to have invented this new procedure to use engraved copper plates. Hancock moved to Worcester in approx. 1756-57. Worcester introduced transfer printing in about 1756. He was a partner in Worcester for about three years but was bought out by the other shareholders. Hancock served the company from 1756 to 1774. Condition Report: General wear. Repaired tea bowl.

A Worcester The King of Prussia' No.3 small teapot and cover, printed in monochrome with an engraving after Robert Hancock, with half-length portrait of the King of Prussia, a single Cupid with laurel wreath, the verso with Fame, blowing two trumpets, the handle and spout with stylised foliage, the cover with flower bud finial and printed with cannon and barrels with cannonballs, black line borders, 11.3cm high, c.1757Vendor's Note - This is the rarest of the three engravings of The King of Prussia that Robert Hancock produced for porcelain decoration. The print is signed RH (for Robert Hancock) Worcester and an anchor (the rebus of Richard Holdship, who seems to have been responsible for transfer-printing at the Worcester factory). In addition, half hidden in the scroll, R Hancock fecit Worcester is inscribedNote: This is such a rare piece, I can find none of the well-known catalogues with this design on a teapot in any description, so I cannot give a reference to it. Condition Report: Restored teapot. Nibbles to finial.

Robertson the only reference to this lady are two items of porcelain from her collection one in the British Museum and another with her collection label both quoting labels from Albert Amor.
