A George III Old Sheffield Plate Meat-Dish Cover, by Matthew Boulton, Birmingham, circa 1815, oval, the lower body part-fluted, with reed and foliage cast handle with lion mask and paw feet, on foliage calyx and with gadrooned border, engraved on each side with a coat-of-arms, 44cm wide The arms are those of Gordon quartering Duff and impaling Cornewall, for Sir William Duff-Gordon, 2nd Bt. (1772-1823) and his wife Caroline, youngest daughter of Sir George Cornewall who he married in 1810. Duff-Gordon was the son of Alexander Gordon and his wife Anne, daughter of William Duff. He was to sit as a MP for Worcester from 1807-1818. . Marked inside with the sun mark twice. There is some minor surface scratching, consistent with age and use. There is some minor bruising to the surface, mostly noticeable below the handle. Possibly re-plated.
A Chelsea Porcelain Leaf Shaped Dessert Dish, circa 1755, naturalistically modelled and painted with insects, red anchor mark, 33.5cm long; A Penningtons Liverpool Tea Bowl and Matched Saucer, circa 1785, painted in underglaze blue with the Cannonball pattern; A Flight Worcester Shanked Coffee Cup and Saucer; and A Pair of Chinese Porcelain Tea Bowls and A Saucer (8). Leaf dish restored. Others in good condition with typical minor wear.

Some typical minor surface wear.
A Worcester Porcelain Tea Bowl and Saucer, circa 1775, printed in underglaze blue with the Three Ladies pattern crescent marks; and A Similar Tea Bowl and Saucer, printed with the Plantation pattern (4). First with tiny glaze flakes to rim of saucer. Second with small rim chip and associated short hairline crack.

A Royal Worcester Porcelain Plaque, painted by George Johnson, early 20th century, of square form with ponies in a highland landscape, signed, printed mark in puce, 7.5cm by 7.5cm. Two minor scratches just below left hand horse's head, very minor scratch running across back of left hand horse, barely visible. Adhesive residue to reverse with remains of material backing. Black surface dirt to top left hand corner on reverse.

δ Brockman (James).- Miniature Book.- Gray (Thomas) Elegy written in a Country Churchyard, limited edition, printed in Lutetia type designed by Jan van Krimpen, portrait and illustrations printed in green, bound in purple goatskin, by James Brockman in 2013, spine with label of onlaid church steeple of scarlet goatskin titled in gilt rising up from graveyard formed by strip of onlaid moss green goatskin along lower edge shaped as silhouetted gravestones and stamped with small crosses in grey, covers with 4 irregular horizontal lines of floral tools in gilt and palladium suggesting lines of verse, Japanese veneer endpapers, g.e., binder's ticket to corner of front free endpaper, 61 x 42mm., preserved in purple velvet-lined cloth drop-back box, scarlet goatskin label to spine, Worcester, Ma., printed by Enschedé en Zonen of Haarlem for Achille J. St.Onge, 1960.⁂ James R.Brockman (b.1946) studied under Sandy Cockerell and Ivor Robinson and in 1987 became the first visiting lecturer at the Institute of Fine Binding and Book Conservation, Humanities Research Centre, University of Texas. He is a past President of both Designer Bookbinders and The Society of Bookbinders and his bindings are held by many public and private collections including the British Library, Victoria & Albert Museum, National Library of Wales, and Sir J.
