A Worcester porcelain soup plate, circa 1770, of scalloped form and decorated in over enamels with floral sprays and three central butterflies, likely painted in the workshop of James Giles, unmarked, diam. 29.5cm. Condition - good, minor imperfection to foot rim and another to iron red edge, minor crazing throughout and crazed line to base.
A Worcester Pinecone pattern bowl, circa 1775, of shaped form and impressed with clam shells, decorated in underglaze blue with pinecones, fruit, vegetables and butterflies, crescent mark to base, diam. 25.5cm. Condition - good, no chips, no cracks, no restoration, general wear including interior scratches.

CHARLES II A Delft charger, late 19th/20th century, painted in blue with a scene depicting the Boscobel Oak with the King's head emerging from the foliage, three soldiers and buildings with spires in the background, within a border of scrolling flowers and foliage, broken and restored, 32.7cm. In the final battle of the Civil War, fought at Worcester on 3rd September 1651, Charles II's army was well and truly overwhelmed by Cromwell's New Model Army. Charles escaped a Parliamentary patrol by hiding in an oak tree in the grounds of Boscobel House. Provenance: with Alistair Sampson Antiques, September 1996.
