A Worcester Valentine pattern tea bowl and saucer, decorated with two doves perched on a quiver of arrows, two hearts on an alter and a garlanded tree, puce pencilled border, c.1758-62 (amended date) Note. The original 'Valentine' pattern was a design created by Percy Brett, copied onto Chinese porcelain as a special presentation service made for Commodore Anson in 1743, probably as a wedding gift. This was copied by Worcester. Bonhams, Knowle.Note: James Giles painted various classical urns, with differing shapes and styles, accompanied with intricate gilding; he seemed to favour vine or fruiting and vine patterns with tendrils, although on one example he just used a bright blue edge. Condition Report: The rim with two touched chips. Hairline cracks to base. Wear to gilding.

On this ground we believe the plate to have been decorated by the atelier of James Giles. Condition Report: Good condition with some minor wear.

A Royal Worcester blush ivory garniture, comprising a large bulbous twin handled vase, with central floral design heightened in gilt, puce mark to underside Rdno 145757, 31 cm high flanked by a pair of blush bulbous bottle vases with central floral sprays heightened in gilt, puce marks to base having Rdno 270098, 27 cm high (3)The items are quite dusty and would benefit from a clean. Slight rubbing to the rims and gilt. Very faint scratches to the floral decoration of the large vase. Three light and thin vertical marks down one side of a smaller vase (should clean off). Overall in very good condition. No structural damage or signs of restoration.
A pair of 19th Century Staffordshire porcelain figures, modelled as Shakespeare and Milton, each figure standing leaning on a pillar representing their great works, Milton against Adam and Eve being cast out of paradise and Shakespeare against busts of royalty, underglazed blue cross swords to base, 25 cm high together with a Graingers Worcester reticulated cup (3)The Shakespeare figure is missing one finger, his arm has previously been broken and restored. A set of five wall mounted flying Beswick ducks, model no 596 together with a Beswick duck pin tray and a Royal Worcester candle snuffer modelled as a nunThis lot contains 596-3 (2), 596-4, 596-2 & 596-1. The neck of one of the pin-tray ducks has snapped and been repaired. The other ducks display areas of crackling to the glaze and rubbing to the bases. Some have areas of residue on them (likely as a result of stickers), which should clean off. There is a chip to the inside of 596-3 wing. Generally in good-very good condition.
