A Garniture of Three English Porcelain Ruby Ground Topographical Vases, each of pedestal baluster shape with richly gilded stylised dolphin and anthemion shoulder handles, the central larger vase with a frontal vignette depicting "Sion House, Middlesex, the seat of the Duke of Northumberland", titled in puce script on the base, within a foliate gilded frame, the two flanking vases with untitled river scenes, each decorated to the reverse with a lozenge enclosing a butterfly motif, each upon black enamelled imitating black slate square integral plinths, probably Flight Barr & Barr Worcester, circa 1830, 27cm and 22.5cm high respectively (the two smaller vases loosely connected where the foot and stem attaches to the ovoid body).

Returning to Southampton and thence to the Isle of Wight, Oxford, Worcester, Malvern, & London on 24th Oct. The writer, traveling in the company of one Mary Digby, has charmingly illustrated the journal with 92 sepia pen & wash drawings of scenes and events en route . 184-pages, small 8vo, contemporary quarter roan.
