An 18th/19th century hunting sword with a straight blade, bearing indistinct decoration (heavily pitted), length of blade 57cm, with ivory hilt finishing the pommel with a carved lions head and white metal (possibly silver) crossguard terminating in dogs heads, bearing possible hallmark for Continental silver.

A well executed watercolour of a 17th Century Cavalier by Charles Cattermole, 9” x 14” in oak frame, highly coloured Cavalier standing by a chair holding a goblet, with flambouyant hat and wearing a baldrick suspending a bowl hilted rapier. Good Condition Plate 2 Note: Charles Cattermole R.I. 1832-1900, exhibited 1858. Specialized in English Civil War and Stuart hunting scenes (CF BM, V&A and Leics and Paisley Art Galleries etc). Father and Uncle (1790-1868) both artists on similar subjects. Further biographical details on reverse of frame.
An early 17th century 18 bore wheellock gun, 64” overall, plain round sighted barrel 48”, large plain flat lock with external wheel; the fullstock and flat sided butt profusely inlaid overall with military designed ivory castles, charging cavalry, foot soldiers and cannon interspersed with mother of pearl discs of flowers and trees. On the opposite side of the stock similar ivory inlay but of hunting scenes of rabbits, deer, dogs and a sportsman loading his gun. The engraved ramrod pipes and fore end caps of bone, pierced iron trigger guard with roped edges, bone tipped wooden ramrod.
