He married the daughter (Ada) of Harry Judd who was associated with The Renfrewshire & Lanark Hunt. Meadows supported a family of eight children with the sales of his paintings and he exhibited frequently and with considerable success in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Known for his coastal scenes and dog/ horse/ hunting works. Died Largs.
