Of New Zealand Colonial Interest: Handwritten and illustrated diary by Harold Bullock-Webster (1855 - 1942), the diary running to one hundred and fifty pages, with leather binding and marbled end papers, 19cm x 12cm, numbered 10 and beginning Aug. 14, 1883 - Hunting themed submission by Bullock-Webster, writing under the same name 'Outsider' for the New Zealand Herald stuck into end papers - the diary itself including approximately thirty-three pen and ink and watercolour full page illustrations and generally recording his excursions to outlying farms in the neighbourhood of Auckland, Hunt meets, various horse trading and observances of life in early Colonial New Zealand....'Sailors make good Colonials, no doubt he'll be a millionaire soon. We all shall - at least we all think we shall and that's enough'.N.B. Harold Bullock-Webster (1855 - 1942), was born in England but emigrated in his youth to the U.S.A. and worked initially for the Hudson Bay Company before returning to the U.K. in 1880 and then travelling to New Zealand, as a farm agent in the employ of Thomas Russell (circa 1830 - 1904). He spent the following four years travelling around the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and East Coast districts inspecting Thomas Russell's farming interests - these years were recorded in a series of diaries, the majority of which are in the Waikato Museum collection. In 1938, he published his 'Memories of Sport and Travel, Fifty Years Ago: From the Hudson Bay Company to New Zealand'

A Victorian silver mounted horn hunting beaker, Thomas Smily, London 1872, with glass bottom, 13cm, in tan leather case CONDITION REPORT: Silver rim tarnished but should clean. The rim is loose but the marks are clear. Externally with light age wear patina, internally with some wear around the rim and a small hair line crack. Grubby internally. Case with general light wear, a little grubby.
A Kohler & Son of London hunting horn, stamped 'Kohler & Son makers from Covent Garden, 185 Piccadilly Street, London' '1851-1862', with copper and nickel mouth piece, 24cm high CONDITION REPORT: A patina of light marks and knocks to the surface throughout. Some grazing at the mouth piece. Clear marks and overall fair.

Drawing 16cms by 11cms, Frame 26cms by 19cms *This lot and the following 5 lots belonged to Charles Harris, who knew Snaffles and Lionel Edwards personally, these items have passed through his family until the present day.
SIGNED SNAFFLES PRINTS & HUNTING ITEMS including a Snaffles print Osses sound (signed and with an inscription in pencil), and Snaffles print Seventy had the pop of Seventeen (signed). Also with a Lionel Edwards print (The Bicester), Lionel Edwards signed Christmas Card, small drawing of a Fox, Map of Salisbury Plain (Hunt Country), etc.
LARGE LEATHER CASE & HUNTING BOOTS - C.O.E NICHOLSON, ROYAL SCOTS GREYS an unusually large leather case, with four internal baize lined trays. Including four pairs of leather hunting boots, all with trees and 3 pairs marked for Maxwell, Dover St, London (one pair in poor condition). Also with some leather gloves, horse brasses (Military including Waterloo) and other items. Case marked to the top, C.O.E Nicholson, Royal Scots Greys, and with carrying handles on both sides. Case 70cms high, 75cms across, 42cms deep *This case was probably owned by Clement O.E Nicholson of the Royal Scots Greys.
