12 Bore Side by Side side lock ejector shotgun serial number 33150. Barrel length 28 inches. Makers name engraved to barrel "Franc Sodia, Ferlach, Austria". Also maker marked to receiver which is heavily decorated with hunting scenes. Double trigger. Buyer must hold a valid Shotgun Certificate or be a Registered Firearms Dealer.

Taiwan.- Pickering (William Alexander) Pioneering in Formosa: Recollections of Adventures among Mandarins, Wreckers, & Head-Hunting Savages, first edition, presentation inscription by author, half-title, portrait frontispiece, 23 plates, 1 map, advertisements at end, occasional spotting, cracked hinge, original decorative cloth, gilt, rubbed, bumping to corners and extremities, 8vo, 1898.⁂ Pickering worked as a tidewaiter for the Chinese Imperial Maritime Customs office in Fuzhou and Formosa (now Taiwan) in the 1860s and learnt the local dialect. In 1877 he was appointed as the first Protector to administer the Chinese Protectorate in colonial Singapore. Speaking both Mandarin and Hokkien, the first European in Singapore to do so, he managed to keep the secret societies under control, maintaining authority and subduing unrest by playing his bagpipes in the street.

A Sporting Trip through Abyssinia, first edition, half-title, frontispiece, illustrations, some full-page, large folding colour map loosely inserted, publisher's advertisements at end, original zebra endpapers, original red cloth, gilt, [Czech p.133], 8vo, 1902.⁂ "Numerous hunting episodes dot this excellent narrative of sport and exploration in the Abyssinian hinterland" (Czech).
Africa.- Prize Binding.- Baldwin (William Charles) African Hunting from the Natal to the Zambesi, first edition, engraved frontispiece, folding map, wood-engraved and tinted lithograph plates, illustrations, faint water-staining to some plates, occasional spotting, near contemporary decorative green morocco prize-binding, gilt, dated December 1866 on lower cover, slight rubbing to joints and corners, 8vo, 1863.⁂ Binding with an image of Britannia to the covers, and inscribed in gilt "Presented to H. C. Baynes. for progress in study" on upper cover.
Africa.- Big Game.- Jessen (Burchard Heinrich) W. N. McMillan's Expeditions and Big Game Hunting in Sudan, Abyssinia, & British East Africa, first edition, frontispiece, plates and illustrations, folding map in pocket at end, one or two small tears to folds, modern half-morocco, [Czech p.84], 8vo, 1906.⁂ Scarce. The author was a Norwegian who went on four hunting expeditions with the McMillans, and American couple from St. Louis, Missouri, who later settled in Kenya.
Three nineteenth brown glaze stoneware sprig moulded Doulton Lambeth pieces, c. 1880. To include: a barrel-shaped mug, a tavern scene beaker and a hunting scene jug. 10 - 15 cm tall.
