Hunting interest:-An Edwardian silver-fronted novelty photograph frame by Levi & Salaman, Birmingham, 1905, decorated in relief with a fox-hunting scene, depicting a man in top hat jumping a hedge, accompanied by a pack of hounds in hot pursuit, a lady riding side-saddle in background, wooden back with replacement strut. 24 cm. high x 19.6 cm. wide.Other than replaced strut there are some tiny holes worn through on rider's top hat brim, his hand, nose and edge of stirrup.

The second part is titled 'The Gentlemans Exercise'.

Wilcox from his affte. Cousin & Godfather, the Author. Mar. 29. 1876" on half-title. Dodgson's own copy, sold at the sale of his books in 1898, was dated 30th March. Provenance: Blairhame booklabel to front pastedown.
